Located in Kenny Centre Mall, this studio is located about 4 doors down closer to Tensuke area of the building. Small be mighty, classes can accommodate up to 20 to 35 people easily. I have seen ballet, tap and hiphop dances done there. I am in the KDA dance classes and we be jumping flipping and skipping in there. We have fans, water fountains and bathrooms available. The key holder is so sweet, she let us finish what we have to do and locks it up! 5 stars for encourage practice and dance.

Very frustrated with the experience, on BOTH individual that are scheduled for 1 HOUR our instructor tried to end them at ~25 min in! We had to fight both times to have a full lesson. In preparation for the wedding we wanted to learn a dance to our sing. Instead they wanted to teach a single move from every style of dance. The instructor specifically said we had to stop practicing the foxy moves that went to our song. At the end of two lessons they pulled us into a private room and tried to upsell us for $600 to create a "wedding dance" Didn't attend the group lesson -wasnt even worth the time to drive there.

The office staff are friendly, follow up promptly, and take care of what's needed. The teachers genuinely like children and are well trained in working with each age group - these aren't just professional dancers doing what they can to pay the bills while they wait for their big break (a relatively common phenomena in the dance school world). The music they dance to is fun and engaging and they offer a broad range of classes, most offered at different days and times throughout the week. Makeup classes are easy to schedule. It's easy to observe classes through one-way windows and there's enough that you don't have parents crowding around one limited viewing area. Another factor that was important to me was that the class dress code and recital costumes were age appropriate. No bare midriffs.

Been going off and on since around 2016 and there are lots of class offerings in all styles on evenings and weekends to try. If you want to work on technique or be helped by the instructor, make sure you start with the "absolute beginner" offerings because most of the classes are choreo based and are fast paced. Don't know what I would do without Artisan! It has been key to helping me re-visit my passion for dance and give me opportunities that I thought would be lost after college!

Not only do they have an awesome new-member deal ($30 for 30 days of unlimited classes), but they have a wide variety of beginner classes that you can either sign up for ahead of time, or just drop in! I agree with a sentiment expressed by a classmate during my last class at Artisan: "This is the best place in Columbus for beginner level, adult dance classes." Because of the awesome deal, we decided to try a variety of different dance classes: hip hop, contemporary, ballet, heels, and jazz! All of them were great! Though each style of dance is different, each beginner class is formatted the same: a warm up at the beginning, followed by a choreographed routine. The teacher picks a song ahead of time and then breaks down the choreography throughout class into easily-digested chunks. The classes move at whatever pace the participants dictate and typically end with a group performance of the routine. Overall, I cannot believe what an awesome find this was! I would absolutely recommended Artisan to others.

The coaches and David Glover were fabulous. I arrived early and heard the kids rehearsing before the end of day showcase. Hunter was so encouraging! When my daughter came out for the showcase I could see a visible increase in her confidence and she performed her little heart out. Every third Saturday of the month, Habeeba hosts a hafla (dance party). Doors typically open around 7:30, but the show doesn't start until at least 8:00, and often later. How late it runs depends on the number of dancers, but 10:30~11:00 is typical, and it could be later. Admission is $10 at the door with all ages welcome. Indeed, there are often a bunch of little kids running around (and sometimes on to the dance floor...). The atmosphere is fun, positive, and upbeat, and dancers of all levels are welcome. I myself only started dancing in June so I haven't performed yet, but I think I might soon. Anyways, the typical hafla consists of various local (and visiting) performers doing a routine either solo or in groups. Most of the dancers are from Habeeba's school, but anyone is welcome. You don't need to be a professional or even have a fancy costume - sometimes performers dance to random songs just to show off some special technique, and you see everything from elaborate galabeya to flared dance pants with a tied top and a flashy hip scarf. Many of the dancers do perform professionally at local restaurants and events, so the quality of the performance is always pretty high. You can also learn a lot from watching the performers... and interacting with them. Throughout the evening, the dancers will take a break and there will be "free dancing". Basically, anyone who wants can come out on the dance floor to practice their moves, get advice from fellow dancers, and use the wide floor and mirrors to do a little perfecting of their moves. There are also group dances. This might be an actual tribal dance, a circle dance, or even a line dance. Anyone can join in, whether they take lessons of any sort or not, and it's a lot of fun. There is also "free" food in the kitchen area, including a lot of different wines, sodas, and snack foods. Some times there are homemade cupcakes or treats too. Habeeba also holds workshops and special events, often right before or in tandem with the hafla; watch the website, I guess, for information. Overall, it's a great way to spend a Saturday night, and for $10, a very good value given the show and snacks.

This is a wonderful place. It's a really fun way to get yourself moving, the instructors a really…read morepatient, and it's very body-positive. Performing is open to anyone who has learned the dances, and it's an excuse to wear sparkles! I've gained core strength, balance, and am so happy to be there.
