Upon arrival we were told that the men needed to be wearing jackets. I wish that our hotel had told us because my husband had packed one, but luckily the restaurant keeps spare jackets on site for just this situation. The large dining room is incredibly old school with beautiful brass dining chairs laden in blue and yellow striped fabric. When they brought out the wine list I thought it was a joke because it was the size of a dictionary! For dinner I had the beet tartare and the veal filet. The soy marinated tofu was a little bit of an odd flavor combined the beet dish but besides that it was quite good. My husband started with the gnocchi and it may have been the best dish of the night, it was dynamite. In my opinion, my veal filet was better than my husbands beef filet and I also really enjoyed the petite eggplant parmigiana that came with it. Soufflé and ice creams for dessert were a big hit, but I was especially pleased because I asked if they had some dark chocolates off menu and they brought me out a beautiful assortment that tasted as good as they looked. Great restaurant if you are looking for an elegant evening out on the town or an excuse to use the dinner jacket that you packed but thought you wouldn't need.

Our small group of 10 friends booked way in advance to get the waterfront rooms in the main building with balconies and terraces facing the lake for four nights in mid-june... WOW!!! the views are incredible!!! I don't think you can find a better home base for your vacation anywhere in the Como area... These folks run this little hotel like a finely tuned instrument... The rooms are bright & warm, the bathrooms large and colorful... The included breakfast buffet was fabulous!!! Several juices, coffees, teas, espressos, cappuccinos, granolas, fresh cut fruits, a large assortment of meats & cheeses, poached & boiled eggs, freshly baked breads & pastries, jams, breakfast cakes, etc... There's just no way anyone would be disappointed with this spread!!! And this isn't some little breakfast room tucked away in a basement, the breakfast takes place in their brightly appointed restaurant with a wall of glass doors revealing the lake & the alps and of course on their incredible waterfront terrace... The view is so good you won't want to leave the hotel!!! And as impressive as their breakfast buffet is, dinner on the Terrace at their La Vista Ristorante surpasses it... Egidio, Bettina and their crew serve up a fixed prix dinner menu with gourmet quality foods, wines and presentations that are just incredible!!! The room was pristine. The views from our balcony were unreal. The restaurant was great, the breakfast was great. I will absolutely be coming back here when I stay in Varenna someday again. Make sure you listen to their website when it says to pack light, you really do have to climb up a lot of stairs to get to your room that are very narrow and it is pretty much impossible to do if you have a large suitcase.

There was no one interrupting, hopping in/out of the jacuzzi, or steam room. You can also book a massage while there. Everything was A+++. This hotel delivered everything I was looking for! I stayed in a Junior Suite with a king bed and balcony, and the room was incredibly spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was a great place to spend the night before an international flight. The room had AC, plenty of hot water in both the shower and sink, and automatic window covers that could be lowered with a remote. I also enjoyed the morning view from the balcony. You can see the parking lot beyond the front lawn, but the grounds and surrounding scenery still made for a nice view. Despite being close to the airport, I didn't hear any noticeable noise during the evening or morning. I unexpectedly arrived very late in the evening and was initially worried about checking in, but I was told there was someone at the front desk overnight, so it ended up being easy and stress-free. The parking lot is also very spacious and gated, which made me feel comfortable leaving my rental car there overnight. Breakfast was included and was decent, filling, and convenient before heading to the airport. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and would definitely come back if I needed a hotel near Malpensa before or after an international flight.

The small lounge areas down on the main floor we really enjoyed. It was very cool sitting there and fun to watch the few activities going on. The food was very good and especially the breakfast.
