Franny is the best massage therapist in the valley and she has been my massage therapist on and off…read moresince 2015. There was a year or so in there that I needed to see other massage therapists, and let me tell you--I've gone to six other massage therapists in the East Valley, and while many of them were good, they just were not Franny.  It's hard to describe massage, but the best way I can think is to say her touch is both comforting and soothing, while therapeutic and healing. In other words, she is working your muscles, but you don't feel like someone is beating you up (as I have felt with some massage therapists.) I feel like with most therapists, you either get someone who is really great at working out your pain and knots -- but it feels kind of terrible -- or you get someone who's touch feels nice, but your knots and muscle aches aren't better after the session. Franny massages in a way that gives you both a therapeutic touch and a comforting touch. You can tell by the way she works on you that she cares about you and about her work.  I was so excited when I found out she was doing mobile massages because I did not feel safe going to a massage business where you are breathing a lot more people's air. She brings everything she needs for your massage, including a really comfy massage table and nice sheets. She wipes it all down in front of you, which helps with the COVID nerves. She wears a mask the entire time, also important for COVID times. She has a speaker system to play massage music and aromatherapy options. So you may be at home, but you'll still get the spa experience. The set-up and takedown of equipment does not take time away from hands-on massage. At most massage businesses, an hour massage is really a lot more like 45 minutes. Franny will give you the massage time you paid for.  As long as Franny is in business, she will be my massage therapist. No one else compares.

She only returned my calls twice, and both times left me voice messages almost a week after the first call, with no alternate method of getting in touch other than to "keep trying." That's just not acceptable. She needs an online scheduling system. I have no idea how she stays in business.

She made sure to give me the full 60 minutes, even though we started a little late (which was totally my fault). My only complaint is scheduling can be a little tough since there's no online system and, like most massage therapists, she often can't answer the phone due to being in a session.... Lymphatic drainage massage is unique in that it utilizes a feather-light touch and specific maneuvers to activate the drains of the lymph system. I could tell immediately that Gary was an expert at this technique. I was particularly pleased with Gary's professionalism. He arrived a few minutes early to set up. He brings the clinical setting to you; he has an extremely comfortable massage table, equipment for calming music, and I believe his website mentions aromatherapy if you so wish. As he set up, Gary really took the time to educate me on his background, the particular technique he was using that day, and gave me an opportunity to ask questions. He knew every detail I shared in my intake form and was prepared to work around the area on which I'd recently had surgery. The massage itself was extremely relaxing and in the days that followed, I did feel a reduction to inflammation I was seeking to address. Despite it being a very gentle massage, almost like tickling, Gary did share that some aches and pains could present and that would be an indication that the lymphatic system was processing some of the stored fluid and toxins. To my great surprise, I was indeed sore the next day in a couple places! I feel blessed to have found such an amazing practitioner. If you're considering booking with him, I urge you to do so. I looked online at several options for massages and kept coming back to Gary. He had great reviews. Gary made the process smooth and enjoyable. He asked questions to help determine what I needed and what I preferred. Throughout the massage he checked in to make the sure the pressure was alright. It was a great experience. Usually after massages I can hardly get off the table because I'm still in so much pain but this time I was able to get up right away. Don't get me wrong, the deep tissue massage was intense, but in a good way. It loosened up the tension I've been holding in.
