My daughter takes a Jazz/Hip-Hop class that she really enjoys. I was a ballet girl, so I feel like her instruction is better preparation for the high school drill team than the concert stage, but that is just me being an old fuddy-duddy. You can drop in and pay for one class, or sign up for a series. A nice variety of classes for children, teens and adults -- In addition to jazz/hip-hop there is also ballet, tap, yoga and even belly dance (try it, it's fun). The space is small, but well-lit and airy. The mirrors are spaced panels and not the wall-to-wall type, so watching yourself and the instructor can be tricky if you aren't properly situated in the room.

My family unfortunately had finished paying the so called "choreographer" JESUS ESTRADA, to not only leave us hanging two weeks before my sister's quince, but always cancelling, making excuses, never replying, etc. JESUS ESTRADA is LAZY, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCONSIDERATE, AND A LIAR. Please DO NOT be fooled by "good" choreography that has been done by him REPEATEDLY ! Avoid this place at all costs. THEY WILL SCAM YOU ! This place only cares about money and has total disregard for customer service. On another note, he says that he will provide suits for the chambelanes, but at the end he either makes up excuses as to why he "did not" get the suits or tells the family last minute to provide the suits themselves. Yet again, he had chambelanes work for him and never ended up paying them for their part as promised. Even if he ends up providing suits for your chambelanes, it always ends up being black and nothing to match the color of the quince. With our experience, he always ended up showing up late, never finishes the dances (which follows up with repeats of other dances that have been "choreograph" by him). The amount of times we tried to contact him through texts and calls, he never ended up answering and if he did it was to notify that the practice has been cancelled HOURS when it should have started. Or simply because "SUPPOSEDLY" he FORGOT. JESUS ESTRADA overbooks himself and never provides his part of the contract. At the end of the day they will simply IGNORE you on PURPOSE because they know how to fool their customers. The staff could care less if you are wasting your time waiting on them to show up. In addition, if you are one of the lucky people he texted back it was only to request for an additional payment prior to the "contract." As always DO NOT get fooled by this message, it always benefits HIM for the MONEY. This is his ways of gaining trust for his "customers." Again, if you are looking for a professional choreographer PLEASE DO NOT HIRE JESUS ESTRADA FOR YOUR EVENTS! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED ! If for whatever reason you ended up paying a deposit or more, please STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK ! The staff will either not answer you or will keep delaying time for a "refund." THIS "BUSINESS" IS A FRAUD !!!

Marcela is such a sweet person, energetic and fun! I still remember the first time I tried Zumba…read morehaving no idea whether I would be a fit for dancing. But with a caring and motivating teacher, my worries were superfluous. I was lucky I met Marcela. In her class, she demonstrates the moves step by step to new students and keeps an eye on every student's progress. We all feel welcomed and encouraged. The point is, we fall in love with Zumba coming at least twice a week, because feelings don't lie: the body just wants more before it feels relaxed and energized. Another intoxicating thing about Marcela's class is the exotic music. Same music and same routine, so we can be familiar with the moves before we continue to explore more. She did not attend any classes that month. I thought she could use this money towards July. I called to discuss this with someone who worked there, and nobody returned my phone call. I did not hear from someone until 2 weeks later demanding my card be on file, and stating my daughter will be dropped from the class after attending 2 classes. I even offered to pay the 17 dollars since they prorated June. So basically they wanted me to pay 51 dollars for one class in June. Also they advertise giving one free complimentary class, to see if your child loves it or not. That was honestly a whole fairytale as well. I don't know where on God's green earth they do business like this. My daughter will be going back to her old dance school, where they are parent friendly and welcoming to their dancers. I guarantee you will not receive it at Transcendance.

Back in Dec 2012, my girlfriend and I were both thinking "We really need to start doing something…read moreabout working out." We had become aware of BFit b/c I had been doing serious web research into gyms in the area. We had already been to check out Oak Park Tennis Club, and I had previously been a member at FFC, and we were considering some other things like an independent spinning class. We were trying to find something that would be not only affordable, but effective at keeping us on track. We decided to walk by BFit on one of our walks, to see what it's like. When we walk by they were finishing a class, so we didn't want to walk in necessarily, just peek at the services they offered on the door, but one of the staff there saw us looking and invited us in. That was the beginning of a wonderful 8 months of Personal Training with Darryl. We only went once a week, which is too little to actually lose a lot of weight without doing anything else, but we still went from huffin-and-puffin after no-more than 20 situps at the start, to working through 2-3 sets of 70 situps, not to mention all the squats, squat kicks, TRX, and crazy-things-Darryl-would-invent-on-the-fly-that-we-never-could-have-conceived-of-on-our-own that we did. Darryl was always very positive, cheerful, inventive, motivating, real, and funny. As Darryl will tell you, "he's got jokes" :). Darryl regularly pushed our limits, but also respected them - if i mentioned that something didn't feel right, he changed up the exercise, and could always take into account my bad knees. We moved away from Oak Park back in April, we have kept going to Darryl for over 4 months, but eventually, distance and scheduling has just gotten to be too much of a hassle for my girlfriend and me (not Darryl's fault, he was always super accomodating with our schedules). And so, alas, we are left to find something else nearer to us that's as good. In addition to Darryl, with whom we built a strong relationship, all the staff at BFit is awesome. My girlfriend took a couple group classes as well, and it is just such a wonderfully friendly place to truly workout, and get your butt kicked. I've been attending the Saturday morning bootcamp - 7:45AM for $9 cash - and I see and feel a difference in my body and my spirit. They encourage you to push yourself while being respectful of your limitations and instructing you to listen to what your body is telling you. There are ALL age ranges, ALL fitness levels, ALL body types and EVERYONE is made to feel welcome and part of the party. It's inclusive, diverse and fun! And this is a serious bootcamp, so you will sweat and work hard and get your work-out money's worth, so make sure to bring a little towel and a bottle of water (or you can buy one there). I really like that you don't have to make a long-term commitment with a membership and can pay by the class. They do have package-deals that offer savings, but I haven't taken advantage of them. If there's any drawback it would be that the space is a bit smallish, so the bootcamp experience may seem a little chaotic to someone more accustomed to Bally's, YMCA or Fitness Formula Club, but Lynette and her team make the space work. I have been a member at all of the places mentioned above and I will say that BFit is by far and away the most fun, most challenging, most positive work out I've ever had. Honestly, this is a fantastic place with great people and positive energy! If you want to get beach-body ready or just need to move a bit more and want to have fun while you're doing it, this is the place to go!

After a year away from any type of gym or fitness studio, I decided it was time to get back into…read moresomething I used to love to do, and I turned to Club Pilates Oak Park to help me get back into the swing of things as someone with a love-hate relationship with fitness. I am the type of person who needs a safe space to exercise and people around me who feel supportive and encouraging, and at Club Pilates Oak Park, I found exactly that. I invested in an unlimited membership and have attended over 50 classes so far. Every instructor I've worked with has been amazing, but a I want to give a special shoutout to Pete J., who's made working out feel fun for me again. His classes are challenging, he always helps me push myself a little harder, but most importantly, he makes me WANT to be in the room. I wake up and look forward to being in class because of the energy he brings to the studio, and it's because of him that I continue to call Club Pilates Oak Park one of my "homes" now. As long as Pete is teaching, I'll be going to Club Pilates Oak Park! (Plus, he's a Cubs fan!)

My friends and family were so excited to come to an intro class scheduled for May 3rd at Noon…read more Unfortunately, there were "issues" with scheduling and some reservations were canceled, after they were confirmed. We sorted it out, or so we thought. Last week, additional confirmation texts and calls were sent by your team members, when we were ALL already confirmed for our class. Today, we were informed that we were all being canceled because they want to reserve the class for those who, "actually want to sign up". We signed up for the FREE intro class back in March! We wanted to give it a try and then sign up if we liked it. We were never given that chance. I believe we were judged based on our names at registration. We've had issues since. It's Otherwise, why cancel? If there's only 12 spots why allow 23 to register? I'm disappointed and disgusted in the way this was handled. I'll never support this location. So glad, I never paid my hard earned money to attend a class.
