The room had the most horrific smell. Like perfume musk. Luckily, the window opened and after a few hours it began to disappate but by morning after closing the windows at night the smell was back. The second day the smell was still strong and opening the windows only helped so much. I needed to stay a couple extra nights but checked out and stayed somewhere else due to the smell. The room was also hot and the air conditioning didn't seem to function properly all the time. The hotel wasn't particularly clean. There was a weird film all over everything. The mirrors in the room had steaks on them as if someone wiped them down, but not sure with what because they just looked dirty. The dishwasher had splatter stains on the front and it just felt generally unclean. For the most part the hotel was quiet, but my room was right across from the elevator so there was that to contend with. On the plus side, the room was spacious, the TV and remote worked, the fridge was clean, and the shower water was hot. I won't return here because of the odor. But if weird smells don't bother you, go for it.

I stayed here about a year ago, and while the lobby looks relatively the same, the upgrades to the hallways, sleeping rooms, and decor are a huge improvement. The modern design is sleek and functional. The new carpet, furniture, and overall decor in the sleeping rooms are very upscale. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful room features, like the refrigerator with a separate freezer, a microwave, and plenty of charging options for devices. I often travel with multiple devices, and having so many accessible charging ports was a pleasant surprise. The bathroom was excellent--upscale and clean--and the bed was firm, which is exactly how I prefer it. The lighting in the room, especially the backlighting behind the TV, added a touch of sophistication to the space. The only thing that stood out as a minor issue was the new wallpaper. While it looks gorgeous, you can see some residue from the installation, which takes away slightly from the otherwise flawless renovation. Also, the elevators appear to have been left out of the updates--hopefully, they're next on the list! Lawana at the front desk provided exceptional service during check-in. Despite being busy with several guests waiting, she was calm, professional, and attentive, making the process seamless. She is an excellent representation of the kind of customer service Marriott is known for. Overall, this Courtyard Marriott has made great strides with its renovation, and I look forward to staying here again in the future

I could have given Country Inn & Suites 5 stars, but for one thing -- value; Country Inn & Suites…read moreit is over priced for this type of hotel. We were driving to see friends in DC, before continuing on to Philly, and we got a late start, UGH, and I hit that wall that has graffiti all over it that says, "I want to stop now, I want a drink, I want food, I want a bed, I do not care that we are only and hour and a half from our friend's house, I WANT TO STOP NOW." It is a wall that we as a married couple must respect in order to preserve our perfect union. So, as a highway unscheduled overnight stay, this place seemed perfect. It has a great little Mexican place next door that I will review next, and several other food choices, and it is set back off the highway a bit with an earthen embankment that deadened the highway sound, and best of all it was super clean! It is a very nice, highway side hotel. But, these hotels usually run, price wise, between about $90 and $120 bucks, before all the little regressive fees that fill state coffers disproportionately from those who can least afford it, but that is a political topic, and not the hospitality industries doing. This Country Inn & Suites was $220 before all those little fees. I think it came to just under $260 after all the fees, but I am not sure. I just remember it was too much for an, arrive late, leave early, country, rural, interstate highway, non-destination, hotel. It was too much, but not so much that you got back in the car and went to another hotel. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Country Inn & Suites should get 5 stars, but for value. It is super clean, the staff was nice, the room was nice, the work out room was okay and again clean, it has a tiny indoor lap pool, always cool even though I do not use hotel pools, it is a nice touch, and it would totally get 5 stars from me if it were located in the downtown of a big city, but it is over priced for this type of hotel.

Issues with the room, door sticks to the point I had to hit it with a shoulder to open the door, the automatic door lock wouldn't disengage when the card was inserted, the floor was wet from humidity, smelled like mildew, a/c sort of worked, the hair dryer didn't work, the tv didn't work, and lastly the bathroom sink drained slowly. Too many things lined up for one room to not be common through the whole hotel.
