We asked InTown Auto Care to conduct a pre-purchase inspection of a car we were thinking of buying. We called three shops before going with InTown, and although InTown charged the most for their inspection--they are not the low-cost provider, as noted in other reviews--we trusted them because it was clear that pre-purchase inspections were "a thing" for them. Unlike the other shops, which basically said "we'll just tell you orally what's wrong with the car," InTown described an established process and a detailed checklist of what they look for. And sure enough, at the conclusion of the two-hour inspection, they provided us with an extremely detailed report that covered dozens of aspects of the vehicle. It was very thorough, with photographs, and they gave it to us in print and electronic form. They then walked us through the report--my husband and I know very little about cars--and explained the issues in a way we could understand. They gave us a very honest assessment of what would be involved in purchasing this car (which they described as "a project"); they were quite candid, and they did not sugarcoat what we'd have to do if we bought the car. In the end, we decided to not go through with the purchase, since we don't know much about cars and aren't into "projects." I was very impressed with InTown Auto Care. We don't live in the Moorestown area, but if we did, I would come to them for all my car-care needs. read more

Took my Mercedes ML350 to replace a new power steering pump. They jacked up the price to $4800. Took the car somewhere else. Paid $942. This never happened before when Ed Ebert owned the business. Beware. By the way, they charged me $500 just to "diagnose" the issue, when I told them exactly what was wrong and what to do. When I challenged the price, they gave me an arrogant snotty answer telling me to take or leave it. I left it. Do not go there and have the same experience. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. The customer service FROM THE OWNER (daughter, not father) was atrocious! We took the car in for a rattling. They supposedly fixed it (for $thousands) and told us that it would continue to rattle until we drove it a while. We subsequently took it back and was told it was another problem ($thousands more). Fine. We were sent an invoice to prepay in full before service started. We notified them that we had a coupon and were told that it would be applied when we picked up the car. When we picked up the car, the owner said 'can't do' because the car was paid in full instead of just putting a deposit. (WHAT?!) Nothing in the contract or coupon stated such. The Great: The staff is awesome. I don't know what Angela eats for breakfast but I want a case of it because she is always perky, smiling, and welcoming. Mike has interesting jokes and Suzanne puts up with it. The entire front office staff is great. I appreciate that they send reminders via text and email because I need those in order to remember my appointments. When I first used them they did a thorough overhaul of my car and provided me with a report that identified some issues which was emailed. I don't know that I've gotten another one of those reports since I started using them. I also appreciate the shuttle service so I don't have to use an Uber. Be aware if you're going to them just for an oil change it won't be one of those quick appointments. You have to make an appointment a few days in advance and if they are working on more serious issues on other cars you may have to leave your car with them. read more

Everyone I've interacted with at InTown has been incredibly nice and helpful. Getting an appointment is easy enough, and I do like the digital reports provided after the inspection. However, their prices are extremely high ($900 to replace a serpentine belt and tensioner assy -- that is a timing belt replacement price!) Battery quote ran high, as well. While they are honest about certain issues needing immediate attention vs waiting to fix, I wish their labor costs were more reasonable. read more

Over the years I brought my Mercedes and Cadillac for service. Today I call to start an appointment for a family member with a Maserati that needs service. I go out of my way to bring more business by referring a family member to their business. I start the process when calling and saying I have a 2017 Maserati that needs a front tire. I asked if I could get a ball park estimate so I have an idea of what this will cost and certainly want to be given different tire options to choose, same as in the past when I put all new tires on my Cadillac XT5. I'm told on the phone we don't give out prices or estimates and we don't even know what type of tire that you will need. Huh????? I said, that's why I am calling - to start the process and give you the year make and model and obviously set the appointment. Aren't they the experts once they have the info? I am shocked that this is what i am told - it was obvious to me they didn't want to provide service. What a thing to say to the customer. Unreal ! read more

Had them fix our car's AC and a check engine light, a month later the car starts overheating (never overheated before). Took it back and they wanted to charge us $1,500 for a problem they failed to predict in their initial inspection. They took no responsibility and had zero empathy, wouldn't recommend going here. read more

I stumbled upon Ed Ebert's Automotive, when on a recent outing, my clutch went straight to the floor. We were able to coast into our destination but from there my car wasn't moving without riding on the back of a tow truck. My roadside assistance had it towed to Ed Ebert's Automotive. I had a great experience! They diagnosed and repaired my car promptly. I didn't feel ripped off or pressured into having unnecessary repairs completed (and as a woman, I'm always nervous about that.) They were just really friendly and priced the repair fairly. Mike was great communicating along the way to let me know the diagnosis, status, etc. I'm just really happy to have found a great auto repair shop, out of an unfortunate event of having to be towed somewhere. I'll definitely know who to call next time I'm ready for more work on the car. read more

Yelp is useful for two things: (1) to find good places like InTown and good people like Mike and Suzanne, and (2) to tell other people about them. I'm happy to keep up my end of the bargain. We just moved to Moorestown this month. Just as we're getting used to the commute, our car's brakes start acting strange. Because of the good reviews here, I contacted InTown Auto. I scheduled an appointment for my next weekday at home -- a couple weeks away. But Mike actually called me the next day to offer an earlier appointment. He and Suzanne explained to me that they try to see people with potentially dangerous problems as soon as possible. True to their word, they hooked us up with a loaner, and took our car in just 36 hours after I contacted them. They diagnosed the problem very quickly, explained the deal to me and gave me options about how to proceed, and gave me a fair price on the work. I picked up my car the morning after I dropped it off. Problem solved. Thanks to Mike, Suzanne, Angela, and John for the quality work. You guys are doing it right. read more

I can't say enough good things about the service I received! I was able to make an appointment for the next day since I have been having weird sounds from my steering wheel. They found a broken power steering pump and were able to get another one the same day and were able to have it done by the end of the day. They also noticed that my inspection sticker had expired and I had not noticed it. Since inspection stations are all closed they were able to do that too. In short, I've lost confidence in this business, and simply do not trust them. I took my car in for a transmission issue, and asked them to change my oil. They told me that my back brakes needed to be fixed. They quoted me a highish price, but I authorized them to go ahead. A few weeks later they called to make sure everything was alright, I had issues I believed might be related to the back brakes so I took it back in. The problems were not related, however he told me that I needed new front brakes, new bearings, a steering component, and an oil change $1,400+. I told him that I just had my oil changed (he did it) but he said that it was 2,800 miles ago, so I should get it. He then Pushed a little harder (strike 1). I told him that I needed to think about the repair, and went the next day to pick up the car and he was irritated and disrespectful (strike 2). Then on my way out to the car another guy (the good cop) walks me out and asks me what I planned to do, stressing that I need to get the fixes - as if they were life threatening, which they weren't. (strike 3). Don't you know that about three weeks later, the back brakes start squealing and rubbing. I ended up having to pay someone else to fix the back brakes and authorized them to fix the front brakes. They fixed the back via adjustment and lube, and reported that there was plenty of life left in the front brakes. I don't like discourteousness, I don't like strong arm tactics, I don't like to be "handled", and I certainly don't like paying twice for the same repair; consequently I won't be going back to Ed Eberts. Called in today to get pricing on oil changes as they are under a new ownership. Gave him the make model and year of car as requested and then he put me on hold for 5+ minutes before he came back and quoted a price. I used to take all of my cars here from the beginning (20+ years) and now we are in search of a new spot. It's a shame but I haven't heard great things about the new ownership. When the battery on my wife's car died, and I was out of town on business, I had to scramble to help her get back on the road. I reasoned that it was better to try local than to pay to tow it to the dealership. I reached out to the closest place I could find. Ed Ebert's Automotive is a half mile from our home. Mike was kind enough to stop by, get the car started, and take the car back to his shop to replace the battery. When my wife and daughter walked down to pick it up an hour later, my wife reported how polite and helpful Mike and Arlene were and my four year old got a lollipop. I have never been treated with such disrespect as I was a few weeks ago by Mike. A little history. I have a Buick that I noticed had a leak. I thought is was from the transmission which was just replaced last year. I took it back to the transmission shop to see if it was the transmission. It was not. I spoke to Mike about this telling him that I was taking it to the transmission shop first before I brought it to him. He was so upset at me, he started screaming at me and telling me that he can't believe I was taking it to those id**ts. He told me to go to them for everything and not to come back to his shop. I came to Ed Eberts shop last week and had fantastic experience with Kevin. My car was making a loud squealing noise that I was unable to identify. Worried my car was going to break down in the heart of my Moorestown, I pulled into the first car repair shop I saw. After walking the door I was prompt greeted by Kevin who was very knowledgeable and able to diagnose the problem quickly. After about 15 minutes, Kevin identified that my serpentine belt was lose and he tightened it and I was on my way. Thank goodness for Kevin. He really saved my day and my whole car. Wow, this place is just getting worse and worse. The new owners are constantly lying and ripping customers off. A very elderly woman, who happens to be a family friend , has her old Saab in. She has had an oil leak for years which she was told by the prior owner that it was not worth fixing and for us to keep checking her oil. She took it not knowing about the ownership change and he did nothing but lie to her. He told her that her car engine was already taken apart and she couldn't turn back on the repair. What a lie. Her vehicle was never even in the shop or torn down. (It was just a scare tactic for a poor elderly woman) He lied, scared and convinced her to repair a vehicle that is worth only scrap metal to do a repair well over a thousand dollars.
