Tucked away under a hair salon on Western Road, Into Beauty is a real hidden gem.
I went here for the first time this weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's very tranquil and calming, with all kinds of whale/bird music playing, and candles all over the place. It's clean and tidy, and above all comforting.
First off you fill out quite an extensive questionnaire about your current beauty habits. I have never had so much attention paid to me at a beauty salon. More often than not you fill out the forms which are then filed away never to be seen again. But here, my therapist referred back to my answers throughout. It was nice to know I was in the hands of someone who knew what they were doing.
First off I had a very relaxing massage (call me indulgent, I don't care), which was then followed by a facial. Now, I have never really got into facials. I've had a couple, but have never really noticed the difference and seen them as a bit of a waste of money. But this one lasted 75 mins, and I can safely say that my skin was a lot clearer by the end of it. The attentive therapist kept me informed with what she was applying to my skin, and also made a note of it so I could purchase the products. This may be a good sales technique, but I didn't feel pressured to buy anything (an important factor in any salon visit, I find).
The treatments are cheaper than other, more renowned, salons like The Treatment Rooms or Katie Price's regular haunt South Lanes Beauty, and I've been to both and can't say that there's any less quality.
My treatment here was so good that I actually booked another for a months time, and I am thoroughly looking forward to my 75 mins of indulgence. read more
