The continental breakfast was meh. Only one of the two buffet trays had food in it and the scrambled eggs were very watery. They have plain and cinnamon roll flavored waffle batter, but the cinnamon didn't have much punch to it. The apple juice had little flavor and was almost like drinking water.

My son was heartbroken we left his stuffie behind. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. The pool was great, the s'mores and fire pit were great. The breakfast was great. Saturday night the guests had taken over the entire breakfast seating area with crockpots of food and delivery pizza. I wish we would've made friends and ate with them instead of next-door at the Farmhouse Restaurant. It was terrible. I wrote a different review on that. We booked a 2 queen room for our family of 3. The room was spacious and had a view of the woods and walking trail behind the hotel. There was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We did have problems with our door unlocking, but it was no issue. The main reason we stayed here was for the pool. The pool is 3'6" deep with a basketball goal and water spraying into it. There is a kitty pool that was 1 foot deep and two small slides. There was also a hot tub that went indoor and outdoor Saturday night the hot tub was too hot for my son to get in but Sunday morning it was warm. Lots of kids in the hot tub. The pool is not heated. It was pretty cold. I preferred the hot tub temperature. The staff at check-in and check out were both very friendly. They do a continental breakfast with two waffle makers. My son loved making his own waffles. They also had scrambled eggs, sausage, links, ham, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, oatmeal, and cereal. Plus a machine with orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and water and of course there was a coffee. We enjoyed our stay! As loud as the hotel was Saturday night. I expected to be woke up by kids running down the hallway or slamming doors and I'm happy to say we all slept all night. Great destination hotel.

But when I pulled the beds apart to see if I could lay down, the bed sheet had a large rip in it and the comforter had a yellow stain that looked like urine. I asked for new bedding and remade the bed myself. Everything was fine until me and my significant other decided we wanted to go to the pool. We went down to the front desk to ask for some pool towels, and we were greeted with a bad attitude. The man at the counter didn't even acknowledge the fact we were there and when we told him what we needed he didn't even look at us, he just put the towels on the counter. Later in the night we realized we only had 1 role of toilet paper, which would be fine normally but we were staying for multiple nights. My boyfriend went downstairs and asked for more toilet paper, and again he was greeted with a bad attitude and the man at the counter didn't say a word to him. Normally I have good experiences with this place, but this time it was dirty, and the staff was disrespectful. Edit: I also want to mention, the fridge was filled with old food debris and one of the lights in our room wasn't working

The bed was very comfortable and the heat/coo/ system has a constant on so you don't hear it coming on and off all night long. Price is reasonable. The bad part of the stay, while surfaces appear to be clean, you will see the dirt come of your feet when you are in the shower if you walk around bear footed. It really is past due for carpets to be cleaned. Second, there is only 1 ice maker on the first floor. You get settled in only to have to make another trip downstairs.

Nice comforter, pillows, and linens on the bed; no stains or odors. Likewise for the bed itself, mattresses look new. The air unit is quiet and efficient and the TV and lights turn on. All the waters work, pressure is decent and plenty of hot but the cold water in the sink doesn't ever really get cold.

Everything from our arrival to our departure was perfect. The house is incredible and we loved hearing Jim share about his journey to rehab every inch of the place. The room was lovely and bed was super comfy. Jim also had some great suggestions for dinner and the house's location is just 2-3 blocks to all of Valpo's best restaurants. Breakfast was so good! I follow a vegan diet and Jim was very intentional about maintaining gourmet quality with the my plate as well (spiced oatmeal and fruit, along with many of the same sides as the main dish). He also made sure to ask about our coffee preference and had a small carafe ready for us to bring up to the room bright and early. We will definitely be back and can't wait to stay here again.

The room smells like a 79 year old man's armpits but they have free candy in the lobby. DO NOT DRINK THE COFFEE in the lobby. It's actually some type of liquid that will make your nose bleed. Not kidding. This place is horrible. Staff is friendly but damn what a crappy bed. I'd give you two stars if you would at least have a mattress topper and electric outlets. Looks like a room from the 1970's. Apparently they didn't charge their IPhones in the 1970's. Again staff was very nice but this place is something you would see in the twilight zone where the main characters gets abducted by French aliens. I'm afraid to poop here.
