I ordered a part with this company for my Maytag range in November 2020.  I never received the part.   On May 20, 2021, I was shocked to finally receive the part for my range. The box had Priority Mail 2-day; however it took over 6 months to arrive!  I emailed the company to return the part and to find out how I could be compensated for the part and return shipping since it had been so long.  I have yet to hear from the company. read more

They use an automated computer scheduling service. It's pretty much impossible to talk to a human being when trying to contact them. They give a 4 hour window of when they will show up at your house (In our case is was 12 pm to 5pm). The service technician shows up at your house a few minutes before the scheduled 12PM to 5PM window with no warning. Our family works so we can't just sit at home waiting for a technician to show up all day. It be nice for a phone call or something letting us know that they are on there way. By 4 PM you then get a crappy email telling you that they want to reschedule your appointment because they showed up and you weren't there. Why couldn't you send in email before saying you were on your way? Horrible way of doing business. read more

At first I was nervous scheduling a time for my appointment online, but I was very pleasently surprised. Their techinician Jared called ahead of time and was even a little bit early. He was able to tell in 30 seconds what the problem was with my dishwasher and was able to fix it one visit without having to order any parts saving me a ton of money. He even went the extra mile looking at my other appliances and scheduling to have the ones that had recalls to be repaired for free. The best I have used so in Massachusetts. read more

We were referred to Interstate Appliance Service by Frigidaire. I prefer to use the Internet and email as a way of communication for the convenience it offers. I scheduled online and was able to get a reasonable appointment time since I was scheduling week of Thanksgiving. Interstate Appliance has an automated telephone service to call with your appointment time which happened on the night before the scheduled day. I was given a time frame of when the technician would arrive. The next day I received a phone call telling me that the tech was on his way. I asked if he could give me time to arrive since I was at work which was no problem to tech. He was waiting in my driveway when I arrived. My problem was with my ice maker in a brand new freezer. Within seconds of inspecting the freezer, the technician knew exactly what was wrong, fixed the problem and waited for the first ice cycle to make sure everything was working properly. I would have no hesitation to contact Interstate Appliance Service again for my repair needs. read more

Don't ever use Interstate! The owner has 6 complaints filed against him with the Better Business Bureau. Mine will make 7. I called my warranty company for a broken washing machine on November 28th. They contracted the repair to Interstate Appliance, and schedule a repair for December 6th between 8 AM and 5 PM. I was told that Interstate would call to confirm the appointment and narrow down the time window on the 5th. Intestate never called on December 5th to confirm my appointment time. I called that night talked to their message service. Interstate didn't call me back. The techs arrived at 1 PM on the 6th, spent a total of 15 minutes checking the washer, and told me they didn't have the part (a door latch mechanism for a front loader) necessary to fix the machine in their truck, but could order it. They said that the parts should be in by the end of the week, and their office manager would call to reschedule. One week later on December 13th, I called Interstate's message service to see if they had received the part. They promised to pass my message on to the office manager. She never called back. I emailed them using their contact form, and was told by Kaylyn that due to the upcoming holidays, even if my part arrived in time, they wouldn't have enough techs to come service the washer before Christmas or even New Year's. Via email, I was able to stay in contact with Intestate. I informed Kaylyn that I had been waiting for service since November 28th, and that a wait of over a month was unreasonable and unacceptable. She then scheduled an appointment via email for Thursday, December 22nd between 8 AM and 12 PM. On Wednesday, December 21st, Kaylyn called to confirm the appointment. At 11:45 am on December 22nd, my girlfriend called the message center for Interstate to ask where the tech was. Kaylyn called back promptly and told her that she had called and emailed me first thing in the morning at approximately 8 AM to cancel the appointment because the part fell off the truck and shattered. I never received a phone call that morning, and when I checked my email, the time stamp on Kaylyn's email was 11:09 AM, three plus hours into the service window. I called the message center asking for Kaylyn to call me back, and she never returned my phone call. I had to email Kaylyn to find out the explanation for the missed appointment on the 22nd. Kaylyn apologized for the 'broken' part, and insisted she called the number on file. When I pointed out that she had called that same number correctly the night before, she said she must have misdialed. She said she would order the replacement part immediately, and it would take 7 to 10 business days to ship to Interstate, at which point they would reschedule. With the Christmas and New Year's holidays, the tentative arrival would be somewhere between January 6th and the 10th (despite January 3rd and January 9th being 7 to 10 business days after the December 22nd.) I asked to speak to her manager or the company owner to voice my frustration with the delays, and she promised to pass all information about my case to her bosses. On December 27th, I still hadn't heard from either the manager or owner, and I emailed Kaylyn to find out when they would be in contact with me. She became quite hostile, and insisted both her manager and the owner were always out on calls and far to busy to deal with me by the time they returned to the office. I asked her if they had cell phones, and to pass my number or email address on to them so I could deal directly with them. I told her if I didn't hear from them, I was going to speak to my warranty company about the lack of service. She emailed me back later that afternoon to say she had spoken to the warranty company and everything was fine, I could do nothing to change the situation. I asked for the name and number of the agent she spoke to, and all she could do was give me the general toll free number for the warranty company. She reiterated that the part was on its way, and they would service my appliance between January 6th and January 13th (up from the original January 10th date.) I haven't heard from Interstate Appliance since. I spoke to my warranty company on January 11th, and the first employee contacted Interstate Appliance to see if the part had arrived. The office manager told them it hadn't arrived yet. The second call from the Consumer Liason to Interstate Appliance yielded the promise of Interstate calling me by January 13th, when the part was supposed to arrive. The Office Manager handled all calls because an employee had a heart attack, and the owner was covering for him. Interstate never called me. On January 16th, my warranty company put the contract for my washer out to another company. That company showed up the next day, had both parts (door switch and water pump) that my washer needed on their truck. One hour later, my washer was fixed, 51 days after Intestate Appliance was contracted. read more

I second what Mimi D said. I'd give a ZERO if I could. Impossible to get in touch with. All you can do is leave a voicemail. And they never call you back. The technician came out, couldn't fix it. He said he'd contact the manuafacture and call me back the next day.. or 2 days at most. I never heard from him again. Even after I called again to leave a voicemail to ask him, where were we So what ended up happening? Nothing. Washer still broken, I never heard back from him. I called LG and told them don't pay this firm for any work they did because they didn't fix anything, they didn't respond to anything. If your appliance manufacturer's tells you to call this place and have them come out to service your appliance under warranty, I'd ask for someone else. DON'T USE THIS PLACE. SAVE YOURSELF HEADACHES AND HASSLES. read more

I was scheduled for a service appointment with these bozos by GE. Here is short version of a longer saga... Monday, July 30 * GE sent me a confirmation email indicating that Interstate would be coming to my house between 8 and 5 the next day. * Called Interstate and left a message asking if I could get a more definite time than 8 to 5. * Never received a call back from Interstate (a sign of things to come). Tuesday, July 31 * Wasted a vacation day waiting for Interstate service rep. NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP AND NO ONE CALLED! Wednesday, August 1 * Called 1-800-GE-CARES. The woman I talked to (very pleasant) put me on hold for 5-10 minutes while she called Interstate Appliance Service to find out what had happened on Tuesday. When she came back, she said she hadn't found out what the problem had been, but Interstate was going to call me immediately. They only had my home phone number, so I gave her 2 work numbers I could be reached at. She said she'd get the phone numbers immediately to Interstate. Not surprisingly, INTERSTATE DIDN'T CALL AGAIN! * 1:32pm - Called Interstate myself and got, once again, an answering machine. I did not bother leaving a message since they were already supposed to be calling me back. * I eventually was able to get in touch with a supervisor at GE Service who was able to cancel my appointment with Interstate and schedule an appointment with another local service company. I'm sure my experience with the other provider will be better. It can't be worse! read more

sent to us because we smelled gas when we turned on our new oven. nstar said it was ignitor switch. do not use stove. maytag sent out this bonehead who stated all is ok and a gas smell is normal. refused to leave or email papers stating this. nstar now redtagged our stove. new tech came out and fixed today. claims they are replacing bonehead with another tech for area. thank god! do not let this man in your house. read more

I bought my Dryer at Lowes and unfortunately had to have interstate service my dryer about a month ago. They never answer there phones or call you back with a time that they will be there. They came to fix my dryer and did not fix the problem. Had to call them back and now have waited over a month for parts and to get them back out. I was told they would be at my home today and now find out they will not be there. They said they have no idea why the girl said today because they are backed up. I am getting really tired of there excuses and not responding to my problem. Would never go there except my warranty with lowes is through them i guess. read more

Whirlpool scheduled this guy to fix my washing machine and he has one excuse after another for not showing up! The part is on back order (which it was not after I checked with whirlpool), he never got the message because his secretary was in the emergency room, oh and then after taking a day off from work he was now in the emergency room!!! Five weeks waiting for my washing machine repair. Also he has 9 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and has had his company under other names and also in another city. Do your research and if whirlpool wants to send this one man show to your home....run as fast as you can!!!!!!!!!! read more

I bought an LG dishwasher in July, I had issue with it in October, LG customer service referred Interstate Appliance. Call called and emailed mid October, Jared responded quickly and set up the appt. He showed up as scheduled, said pump was bad. He showed back up the day before Thanksgiving, replaced the pump said the dishwasher was fine and left. Thanksgiving day, 36 people, dishwasher failed again. I emailed hims and called on November 28th, told him dishwasher still had issues. Jared showed back up on December 11, said entire drain system needed replaced. He will order parts and have completed before Christmas. Before Christmas I left him numerous messages, no response; maybe on vacation. After NewYears, again left numerous messages and emails; no response. I finally contacted him on his cell on January 14th, he told me that I would get an automated phone call and email confirming the appt. to complete the repair. Never heard back from him again. I got tired of calling and emailing. Called LG, complained about the service. LG referred Hunter appliance, they were great, very quick response and had it repaired within a week. read more

Found this company's name on the Frigidaire Appliance website as a local service provider. They don't have a website or anything that indicates their business hours which makes reaching them nearly impossible. They have an "answering service" that will take down your name, number and message, but they'll never call you back. Also, this answering service has no idea what the actual business hours are either. After waiting weeks to have our brand new dishwasher serviced because of a defective electrical piece, I finally reached a woman who works there, not the answering service (woohoo!). She informed me that the soonest she could get a tech out would probably be "next Wednesday" which is 8 additional days on top of the week plus that I've already been waiting to get them to order this new electronic piece. When I asked her why the long wait she said they only have a service person out in my area once a week (even though I live 15/20 minutes from their store) -- so I asked if she could check the schedule for tomorrow and she said that she does the schedule at 2pm and couldn't tell me yet (since it was only 11am). WTF. Goodbye Interstate Appliance, I'll go somewhere else instead. read more

We have had many service techs come out to the house to look at our stove, washer, dishwasher and refrigerator. When we got in touch with Jared at Interstate, he was on time, professionally dressed and ready to fix our issue. On this particular visit he was at our home to fix our dishwasher and stove. He fixed the dishwasher, and offered many helpful ideas to get the best results out of the machine. It has worked perfect ever since.The other issue was our stove. He diagnosed that it was the burner or switch. He ordered both just in case. Jared was friendly, and totally professional. The parts came to my home and I was able to make an appointment right away. During that time we had an issue with our washer. I tried everything. Jared was kind enough to go through a number of things on the phone with me, and he was able to fix it right over the phone, saving us time and a lot of grief and aggravation. He was a life saver. When he came back to fix the stove he did so in a timely manner, asked how the dishwasher was and the washer. I really appreciated the fact that he remembered our issues, and helped us out. Our stove is now perfect, and I am glad that I found a technician like Jared, who does not mind to go the extra mile for his customers. I highly recommend his work ethic, attitude, and attention to detail. It's great to know that he is a phone call away and ready to help! read more

I also had a similar problem with interstate appliance, my maytag washer broke, still under warranty, so I called maytag and they set an appointment up for this company to come which I had to wait one week. They came and said they needed to order a part that would take about one week. Three weeks later, six calls to the foolish answering machine that never gets a call back, emailing them which you are supposed to get response in eight hours, wrong and three calls to them from maytag with no response that maytag had to call there reginal supervisor to get in touch with this company....the part supposedly came and four days later they came to fix the machine. Supposedly part was back ordered but I went on line to see if I could get pert for $32.90 I could get the parts in 1.7 days? So if you want to wait and have no way to contact, because you will never get and answer than this is your company, I told maytag that if ever I have a problem again that I do not want them to come to my house, that they need to send someone else....it was a nightmare! read more
