UPDATED: Aug 19, 2024…read more Rod reached out to me over the phone and we discussed my experience. We had agreed to provide me with a price match with the quotes from the other auto service companies. He explained that the other companies' prices may not reflect an engine scan which can mean there may be issues with the car after the recharge. He also mentioned that he did not charge for a scan and bundled the diagnostic & repair costs. Ultimately, he said he cares about his clients being happy with the service. I am happy with the service, as there were no issues there. I appreciate Rod taking the time to reach out and alleviate my concerns with the pricing. ---- TLDR: I GOT SCAMMED. Got charged over 2x the normal price for a simple AC fix. BEWARE if you're a woman as they try to take advantage of you hoping you don't know much about cars. VERDICT: Definitely not coming back. I went in to get my AC fixed as it was no longer blowing cool air. Service was friendly and pleasant with Rob always smiling and the employee working on my car walking me through what he found was wrong. The employee told me it's a super simple and common issue: a leak in my AC because my Schrader valve was worn down and the Schrader valve was $10. I was then charged $511 for a half an hour service fix with additional charges for services that were not necessary (ex. Engine scan) and charged me the premium refrigerant when my vehicle is a 2015 Mazda CX5 and definitely did not need that. It just needs a R-134a refrigerant. I was only aware that I got scammed when I told my partner how much the repair costs and he didn't believe me at first. He then helped me call multiple auto service companies about what it would cost to replace my Schrader valve and recharge my AC with an R-134a refrigerant. All other place's quotes ranged from $175-$250. My partner also asked if an engine scan would be necessary, how much they would charge for diagnostic and repair, the A/C valve, and shop supplies. They all said those would not even be charged because this is such a simple fix and issue. They also all mentioned that an engine scan was not necessary considering the concern was just about the AC. Sure. Rob was friendly and "transparent" about the quote walking me through each line item, but he took advantage of me hoping that I wouldn't know what the typical costs and service would cost, or what things were actually needed vs additional charges. I had e-transfered him the amount so I couldn't even get my money back. Very disappointed in Rob and wish I had known earlier about what I know now. Never coming back to Best Buy Auto Service again.

Shady. I called last night and said I would buy a specific vehicle. This morning, the finance guy…read moreaccepts all of my personal information - pay stubs, ID etc. then tells me that he needs to use a sub-prime lender because of the age of the vehicle. I tell him that's non-sense - I'm putting more than 1/2 down and have amazing credit. If that's the case, I'll just put it on my line of credit and want to pick the vehicle up tomorrow - provided him with line of credit info. Suddenly, they aren't going to process it because they have a deposit on the truck?!?! They're trying to force you in to their sub-prime lender(s) to make more money.

My experience was great, and I'm still feeling a sense of relief from dealing with them…read more Backstory: I bought a used 2009 Dodge Journey from somewhere else. It runs great, but the only keyfob is useless. It still works in the ignition, but doesn't lock or unlock my doors. So I need to use the actual key, and it makes the alarm go off Every. Damned. Time. Even with a brand new battery. So I bought a new fob off the internet. I spoke to a mechanic I trust, and he told me it might be expensive to get it programmed. He recommended a nearby dealership, but they never answered my email. I don't remember how I found Crosstown--I think I googled 'West Edmonton Dodge keyfobs' or something like that. I hadn't even considered Crosstown before then. Aidan answered my e-mail the next morning, answered all my questions, gave me a flat fee (plus taxes) so I made an appointment. I'd been given the impression from other people that a replacement keyfob was REALLY expensive. Maybe 'expensive' is a relative term. I have no previous experience with keyfobs. Having never been there before. I found a parking spot and walked around. A nice woman on her break asked me if I needed help. She told me exactly where I needed to go and what to do. The fellow I worked with was lovely and professional, answered all my questions and advised me that if my internet ordered fob doesn't work, I'll still have to pay the fee. Oops...but yes, they can't be held responsible for any faulty crap ordered off the internet, right? I accepted. I suppose I expected a song and dance. I expected him to 'find' things that needed to be done, and maybe some high pressure sales. I had my hackles up a bit. He asked me if there was anything else I needed done, but that was all. He promised it would be over in an hour. Their waiting area has comfortable chairs and even a little cafe. I could have grabbed a pop or a pastry if I wanted, but as promised, my mechanic was back in precisely an hour. It worked! My keyfob from the internet worked just fine. And did I need any other work done since I'm already there? No pressure, just my bill is fine. I'm already thinking I'd like a spare, since the first fob is so useless. Now I know where I can get one in an hour. I'll probably be back.

Dont buy a used vehicle from here!! they are very dishonest. I tested a mini van and my kids opened…read morethe very back windows. I bought the car. They took a day to 'get it ready' and after a few months of owning it, priced the back windows didn't open. I mentioned it to a mechanic (not at Crosstown) and they said the parts were gone - not broken, GONE. they stripped it for parts before giving it to me after I bought it. now I wonder what else was taken or swapped. DONT GO hERE!!!
