What I really recommend is that they have a brochure that highlights the restaurants in the area. They had sections on local eats, BBQ, date night, etc. and it really was our go-to for the entire weekend. All the recommendations and reviews were spot on, and it made our trip so enjoyable! It's located right in the heart of the city too, so you are right by so many things to see and places to eat!

The sites were significantly over priced, and its obvious they dont care cuz they are pretty much the only option for visitors to the Ark adventure. We stayed three nights at EC and had a relaxing and enjoyable visit. All the employees were very friendly and welcomed/ thanked us for visiting. The park has a nice swimming pool, mini-golf, playground, and pavilion. On Saturday evening they had live music and a food truck. Overall, the sites are spacious, especially the ones along the creek. The creek side sites are all paved pads, level, and FHU. These sites seem to be newly renovated compared to the non-creek sites. Water pressure was very good and consistent electricity throughout our stay. The one minus is the poor WIFI. A for purchase upgrade was available, but the free WIFI was very limited. The bathhouse is very nice, clean and modern. We were fortunate to have a buddy site (#9) with our friends and it was an amazing location. Common fire pit and plenty of room to spread out. The creek flowing behind the site was very relaxing and we wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend Elkhorn Creek and we will stay here the next time we visit the Lexington area. FYI- The campground is only 5 miles from Buffalo Trace.

The grounds guys were friendly and helpful, the grounds themselves were clean and well maintained. We were extremely turned off when we decided to extend our stay for one night. Originally we received a 15% discount for booking a week -long stay. When we went to the office to extend one more night, not only would the lady not honor the 15% off discount on the additional night, she very rudely refused to even apply a 10% Good Sam club discount. The logic escapes me!! If the extra night did not qualify as part of the original stay, then the extra night is, in my opinion, a new reservation which should have qualified for the Good Sam discount!! I have never been spoken to so rudely, and by someone in a supposed "customer service" role!! Really very unprofessional!!

I have no complaints for this property at all. It's a very clean and neat hotel, that is really designed to be an extended stay option. It has all of the amenities you would need for a multiple day stay. Laundry room, gym, pool and fire pits outside, & a convenience area with all kinds of items and drinks. The store items for purchase were a little steep but that's to be expected in a hotel. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful when I needed anything. The facility is in great shape and I had a comfortable stay. The TV is huge also! My only negatives would be that I had some hair from the guests prior to me in the shower and I struggled a bit to get my game hooked up to the WiFi. The pillows are a bit too soft also , but again that's usually the case in hotels. I really enjoyed the pool and fire pit area and it really makes you feel like you're on a nice vacation! This location is 8-10 minutes from a ton of restaurant and store options as well and close to the downtown area and Rupp arena & CBC where I had a conference. Thanks for a great stay! The second point is they do not have late checkout options. The gentleman at the counter said it's because they are so new and they're so busy. Our room wasn't ready for an early check-in so we had to wait. All that said, this is an amazing new hotel in a great location, walking distance from a couple of restaurants and stores. It was a great day so we got a chance to get out and walk. There's Starbucks and a store with little Cesar's inside, also connected to a Mexican restaurant on one side and Jimmy John's on the other. Kroger coming soon on the other side of the hotel. It's also in great proximity to a strip of stores, including Walmart, etc. So we found it within 5 minutes without any issues. The room is nice and new great amenities and I look forward to staying there again.
