My only issue is that if I go in for one or two things I come out with twenty. It can be a one stop shopping experiencing or you could blow your budget. A couple tips... If you decide to do the self checkout make sure to keep your receipt handy. You will need the bar code on the receipt to get out of the electric swinging bar. Also, if you bring your own bags you won't have to pay extra to use theirs.

To enter Auchan (the main store) You must go in through the Electronics section (on the left). This store has almost everything including groceries, electronics, household items, general merchandise, health and beauty, some clothes and all disposable supplies for parties (napkins, plates, table clothes, etc). And a large seasonal area (School supplies, Christmas, etc). Prices are reasonable.

Large, well-stocked supermarket with pretty much anything you need. I had been to an Auchan on my first trip to Europe back in 2001, and I had always remembered it as a supermarket-style chain (which for sure it is), but this specific store felt more like a Target or Walmart than a pure supermarket. They had electronics, housewares, and other items that I don't typically associate with a grocery store. Anyhow, the only weird thing is that (like many European stores), they are quite strict about how to enter and exit -- they have little gates specifically made to control the flow of traffic in to and out of the store.

There's only street parking on a one way street. So, it might be a little tricky to get a spot, but it would be worth the walk if you have to park further away. Make sure to go into the side room. They have all kinds of chocolates and even large, plush, stuffed animals. Totally worth the visit to this spot. You will be hard pressed to not walk away with something.

We started with just a few and kept adding to our purchase. By the time we finished we were sure that the bill would be crazy high. On the contrary, the prices were so affordable we could not believe it. We are well stocked! Back home the total bill would have been insane! The young lady slicing our Italian meats was so gracious and helpful when it came to our ordering skills.
