    Pasticceria Tombolan - Morning brioche!

Nothing makes for a better morning than a sweet pastry and a creamy cappuccino. Lucky for us,…read morePasticceria Tombolan is around the corner from our house with just that! Peruse their case and pick out the tastiest looking brioche. I recommend the frutti di bosco (berry) but you really can't go wrong with anything and then head to the coffee counter to order your drink. I say go cappuccino all the way, but you could do a macchiato, espresso, cafe americano (a cup of espresso and a cup of hot water, cracks me up every time)... Pick your poison! Then, head to a table and someone will bring your drinks to you when they're ready. Tombolan has a few tables inside and out. They also have lots of other, non-breakfast goodies like cakes, macaroons, etc. that are fun to take away. I like to buy a dozen when guests are in town, for special occasions, to take to work... Let's be honest, really I just like to buy a dozen, no excuse needed!

The Italian grandmother they have making their cappuccinos may be the finest part about this place. She makes them better than anywhere else I have had to this point, and that is 6 months of Italian cappuccinos for comparison. Their pastry offerings are also very good and normally have a wide variety to offer as well. All in all, this neighborhood pasticceria is a notch above most you will come across in this region. They will bring a smile to your face, oh yeah and the cappuccinos are only 1 euro 20 cents!

I ended up leaving bc I still needed to eat real food and got my stuff to go. I accidently began to walk out without paying and the guy at the counter was really nice about it, I apologized and he said it was ok. I then went to pay but they didnt accept card so he just let me have the muffin and tea on the house! It was nice of him because he didn't really have to. I would go back because the customer service was so great

My daughter and I decided to head into Vicenza Centro for a mommy/daughter day. Gelato is…read moreeverywhere and we already have some favorites, but in the name of fairness we feel the need to try as many as possible. This way we have a true opinion on gelato in Vicenza. :) This little shop has plenty of outdoor seating and by the looks of what the customers were ordering they have great capaccino as well. There is plenty of foot traffic between the shop and the tables. Also, one of my favorite aspects of this shop is that the tables and chairs are in the street. Cars are only permitted if they have a pass and this section is foot and bike traffic for the most part. The decor inside is fun and refreshing. There's a large wall with a black and white photo of a couple sipping drinks together, some uniquely desinged bum chairs, and some more whimsical art on the walls. Now to the best part.... THE GELATO!!! It was fabulous! I loved my creme caramel and my daughter thought her fragola was great. I will say that she still prefers Pretto's fragola, but loved this one too. The location is worth the experience and the gelato is delicious. If you like people watching this is the spot for you! Another one of my favorite things about Vicenza is that no one is in a hurry to get you out of your seat. So, you can sit back and relax and just take in the view.
