I accidently began to walk out without paying and the guy at the counter was really nice about it, I apologized and he said it was ok. This way we have a true opinion on gelato in Vicenza. :) This little shop has plenty of outdoor seating and by the looks of what the customers were ordering they have great capaccino as well. There is plenty of foot traffic between the shop and the tables. Also, one of my favorite aspects of this shop is that the tables and chairs are in the street. Cars are only permitted if they have a pass and this section is foot and bike traffic for the most part. The decor inside is fun and refreshing. There's a large wall with a black and white photo of a couple sipping drinks together, some uniquely desinged bum chairs, and some more whimsical art on the walls. Now to the best part.... THE GELATO!!! It was fabulous! I loved my creme caramel and my daughter thought her fragola was great. I will say that she still prefers Pretto's fragola, but loved this one too. The location is worth the experience and the gelato is delicious. If you like people watching this is the spot for you! Another one of my favorite things about Vicenza is that no one is in a hurry to get you out of your seat. So, you can sit back and relax and just take in the view.

Naples-style buffalo mozzarella pizza is softer and fluffier (and arguably more flavorful) than the thin crust pizza I've had in this area of Italy. I rejoiced when I found this place! Yes, the restaurant isn't much to look at...and yes, it's attached to a gas station and you could easily drive right past it. But, it's amazing pizza! The gelato-potion is the restaurant is none existent. The owner said it just wasn't popular enough...so, all they do is pizza. Bonus, a drink (beer/soda) is included with your pizza (6 euros avg). A tip, the guy actually cooking the pizzas at the oven speaks decent English in case you're hitting a language barrier while ordering ;-)

I mean, the other flavors I sampled were good -- cookies, zuppa inglese, peach, fig. Certainly nothing to turn your nose up at. But, the minute I tasted anguria, the sun came out, birds started chirping, and I said to myself... Holy cow, my life will never be the same! In case watermelon gelato isn't enough to get you into Goloso, they also have amazing trays of housemade tiramisu that we love to take home and their sugar cones are really delicious.
