My flight was delayed by 2 hours, but Expedia confirmed with Sixt that a late-arrival note was added to my booking. When I arrived at the counter, the agent acknowledged my reservation but refused to honor it unless I paid nearly €500 more because they were out of cars. I declined. Instead of resolving the issue, they marked me as a "no-show" and won't issue a refund, even though I was standing at the counter with proof of my confirmed booking. I was left without a car and had to make a new reservation for a later date at additional cost. This is not customer service, it's a scam.

They claimed to not have another comparable car but offered us an Audi at a hugely increased price. The only additional charge we should have incurred was $63 for one additional driver. At 10:30 p.m. on October 14, 2016, we had no choice but to accept the vehicle at the outrageous fee. I have never incurred such a situation although sometimes a requested car may not have been available but an upgrade was provided at no additional charge. The car rental company took advantage of us and I will never use them again or refer others to them. It was evident Sixt rental car company doesn't care about customer service when their manager at the airport location didn't provide a simple apology for this huge inconvenience at the time and as we have still never even got a response back from the company headquarters when we have contacted them about this issue. We were forced to absorb this astronomical charge and will continue to ensure anyone we know looking for a rental car company is well aware of this issue & their terrible business operations.

    Stayed overnight at the Maritim Hotel before the start of my trip (March '20). Booked my car (Audi…read moreA6 50 TDI) with Sixt in the hotel as opposed to the airport due to no "Premium Location Fee" and other fees and taxes. That alone saved me $300+ in the rental. I was able to collect my vehicle in about 5 minutes with no issues. Since the car was packed in the "Sixt" area, which was small, it was easy to find. I moved the car closer the lift and was able to pack it easily. Best part the lift goes from room floor to garage. I will definitely be back as it is way cheaper than picking up from the airport. I did not experience the vehicle return to the Sixt location at the Maritim Hotel due to last minute change in travel plans due to Covid-19.

When you insist you don't want insurance, tire upgrade, GPS, fuel, etc., they become rude and unprofessional. After you return the vehicle they choose not to inspect it for damage or fuel. After departing the country, I received a receipt via email for the agreed rental amount ~€200. I also received a second email for damages to the rental from a scratch on the front bumper they claimed was as a result of my rental. Even though the rental agreement, on pickup, had the same scratch indicated on it as previous damage. The damages for this scratch was over €500. Absurd. After going back and forth with them they threaten to take legal action if you don't pay the fraudulent claim for the desired amount they choose. Total scam! Stay away from this location and company all together.
