Thai massage rocks. If you haven't experienced it, I would describe it as assisted yoga with pressure point massage. You are clothed, in yoga attire. Instead of kneading out your sore spots, the massage is more focused on stretching and accupressure points.
ITM is a massage school but they also do massage treatments. You have to email them to schedule your appointment. The sessions are 1.5 hours long and are 65e for your first appointment and 50 thereafter.
When I went, I had the whole studio to myself. I was served tea and the therapist and I chatted about my history, my ailments, my previous experience with Thai massage. And then he went to work. For those new to thai massage, this may be where it's odd. For example, I came in with lower back pain. Swedish or similar massage would probably dive right in to the problem area. Instead he worked on the various release pressure points, on my feet, my legs, various areas of my back - never really kneading through my lower back. Different but let me tell you I felt fantastic afterwards. There was one part where he was applying pressure to my hip and literally all the pain that I had been experiencing the past two weeks went away. Too bad he eventually had to let go of the spot. Nonetheless, amazing!
I would also recommend following them on facebook. They are a massage school and sometimes they need "models" - essentially a free massage performed by their students!
I will definitely be back. read more
