Before being released from the hospital after my baby was born I had to have a follow up appointment with a pediatrician. My baby was less than a week old when we were seen here. The doctor did the assessment which went fine. However as soon as she was done she asked "does he have all his shots" I said no and the whole tone changed. She became incredibly irritated in tone even slamming her laptop closed when we tried to explain our stance. I actually started crying in the office and she said to me " are you going to tell me why you are really crying or will you just say it's after pregnancy emotions". My husband and I could not get out of this place fast enough. I was so traumatized by the treatment, and still think about it to this day and get sick to my stomach. I cried for days after and believe me have told whoever will listen! A friend ended up finding a pediatrician in Topeka who truly lives by what I expected from direct primary care. Who treats me with respect and never pressures my stance. So I cannot recommend enough, if you are an outside the box thinker DO NOT COME HERE!

Then I found out that DeSoto had an Urgent Care of Kansas clinic that opened in my hometown of De Soto, and I decided to give it a chance, though I was still incredibly anxious and skeptical. From the moment I met Dr. Saboor Rashid, the experience was different. He didn't just listen to my long list of symptoms; he really listened. He was attentive and took the time to examine me. He confidently diagnosed my issue and assured me, "I know what that is, we're going to fix it." When I left the office, still filled with doubt, I returned to ask him to confirm my diagnosis. His compassionate response, "Let's not worry about the diagnosis--take the medicine and come back to your next appointment. I do believe you," was exactly what I needed to hear. Just as he predicted, I started getting better. He has since put me on a path to healing, and my chronic conditions are improving. The severe rash that tormented me for so long is finally gone. My arthritis is under control. I'm looking into different ways to lose weight. I have also been able to get off medications like Xanax, pain pills, and Suboxone. It isn't just Dr. Rashid who makes this place special, although he could be, is that amazing. Tony, who man's the front desk,( I do need to set an appointment) answers phone calls, provides technical support with the tablets and is right on with his ability to handle insurance and patient questions all while keeping everything else in order to not once has shown if he was frustrated or makes me feel like I'm annoying if I ask questions. He is amazing. In all my visits to both the De Soto and Gardner offices, I have yet to encounter a single person who is rude or condescending. The entire staff is knowledgeable, truly wants to help, and will help. I've never trusted a doctor more and can't recommend this clinic enough. When my kids need urgent care, who are 4 and 5 years old; one of them has a brain injury, they come here too. I can't give this place enough stars and I'm not exaggerating if you're looking for a new primary care doctor or you just need to get urgwn, this is the place to be you won't find a better team! I've had a lingering cough from what I thought was a cold going on four weeks now. I originally…read morewent to Tallgrass Clinic on Monday and was told it was just a lingering cough and prescribed a cough suppressant guaranteed to "kill my cough" in a few days. Fast-forward to Friday where I'm still coughing, in fact, my cough seems worse again! I'd really been feeling like the NP at Tallgrass was wrong so I sought a second opinion and tried Cotton O'Neill ExpressCare at my husband's recommendation. The MD I got was really personable and listened to me and asked me lots of questions about my symptoms and experiences. She listened to my breathing and felt she could hear something strange, so had me go get chest x-rays in the clinic. The radiologist examined the x-rays which were normal, but her gut was telling her something more was wrong. She treated me as having bronchitis and prescribed an antibiotic (given all the hubbub with antibiotics being over prescribed, this clinic even issued a statement saying they'll only prescribe it if absolutely necessary). She also prescribed an optional cough suppressant since the other one did nothing for me. I can now say a day later, I'm feeling better already! The MD was clearly right and I'm very grateful for her knowledge and expertise! I will definitely go to this place for all my urgent minor medical needs!

Her staff are friendly, professional and efficient unlike many practices in town who seem to care less about patients and drop the ball when it comes to personal attention and professionalism. The practice is small enough that you get the individual attention you need while offering ancillary services such as lab work on site. They offer electronic check in using a tablet where you can even pay your bill by swiping your credit card as well as a patient portal where your electronic record can be updated and checked. My only complaint being the fact I that after one week I was not notified about whether or not my lab work was complete, causing concern over the results. I sat in their waiting room and watched people come and go for OVER AN HOUR before I finally walked out. All I can say is: If this is how you TREAT A NEW PATIENT, I'm not a new patient of yours any longer!!! I am now looking for a new provider. Holy cow. Learn some customer service.
