Her staff are friendly, professional and efficient unlike many practices in town who seem to care less about patients and drop the ball when it comes to personal attention and professionalism. The practice is small enough that you get the individual attention you need while offering ancillary services such as lab work on site. They offer electronic check in using a tablet where you can even pay your bill by swiping your credit card as well as a patient portal where your electronic record can be updated and checked. My only complaint being the fact I that after one week I was not notified about whether or not my lab work was complete, causing concern over the results. I sat in their waiting room and watched people come and go for OVER AN HOUR before I finally walked out. I was so excited to find a direct care provider that didn't take insurance. From what I had heard…read moredirect care meant a bit more free thinking and open minded from the pressure of big pharmaceutical. Boy was I was wrong here!! Before being released from the hospital after my baby was born I had to have a follow up appointment with a pediatrician. My baby was less than a week old when we were seen here. The doctor did the assessment which went fine. However as soon as she was done she asked "does he have all his shots" I said no and the whole tone changed. She became incredibly irritated in tone even slamming her laptop closed when we tried to explain our stance. I actually started crying in the office and she said to me " are you going to tell me why you are really crying or will you just say it's after pregnancy emotions". My husband and I could not get out of this place fast enough. I was so traumatized by the treatment, and still think about it to this day and get sick to my stomach. I cried for days after and believe me have told whoever will listen! A friend ended up finding a pediatrician in Topeka who truly lives by what I expected from direct primary care. Who treats me with respect and never pressures my stance. So I cannot recommend enough, if you are an outside the box thinker DO NOT COME HERE!

For two years, I struggled to find a doctor who would take my health concerns seriously. After…read morebeing repeatedly dismissed as a hypochondriac or drug seeker at other hospitals, my trust in the medical system was completely gone. Then I found out that DeSoto had an Urgent Care of Kansas clinic that opened in my hometown of De Soto, and I decided to give it a chance, though I was still incredibly anxious and skeptical. From the moment I met Dr. Saboor Rashid, the experience was different. He didn't just listen to my long list of symptoms; he really listened. He was attentive and took the time to examine me. He confidently diagnosed my issue and assured me, "I know what that is, we're going to fix it." When I left the office, still filled with doubt, I returned to ask him to confirm my diagnosis. His compassionate response, "Let's not worry about the diagnosis--take the medicine and come back to your next appointment. I do believe you," was exactly what I needed to hear. Just as he predicted, I started getting better. He has since put me on a path to healing, and my chronic conditions are improving. The severe rash that tormented me for so long is finally gone. My arthritis is under control. I'm looking into different ways to lose weight. I have also been able to get off medications like Xanax, pain pills, and Suboxone. It isn't just Dr. Rashid who makes this place special, although he could be, is that amazing. Tony, who man's the front desk,( I do need to set an appointment) answers phone calls, provides technical support with the tablets and is right on with his ability to handle insurance and patient questions all while keeping everything else in order to not once has shown if he was frustrated or makes me feel like I'm annoying if I ask questions. He is amazing. In all my visits to both the De Soto and Gardner offices, I have yet to encounter a single person who is rude or condescending. The entire staff is knowledgeable, truly wants to help, and will help. I've never trusted a doctor more and can't recommend this clinic enough. When my kids need urgent care, who are 4 and 5 years old; one of them has a brain injury, they come here too. I can't give this place enough stars and I'm not exaggerating if you're looking for a new primary care doctor or you just need to get urgwn, this is the place to be you won't find a better team! Thank you Dr. Rashid Saboor, we're having such great bedside manner alongside of your knowledge and compassion, Tony and the whole Urgent Care of Kansas team, you're fabulous!

Dr. Gebremedhin is an endocrinologist specializing in diabetes and metabolism disorders. I was…read morereferred to him by my neurologist, who is in the same practice, because we've been trying to pinpoint the cause of chronic fatigue that I've experienced for much of the past year. This is a condition that can have many potential causes, including lots of endocrinological ones! I've been very pleased with Dr. Gebremedhin -- he's a good listener and very patient, taking what seems like all the time in the world to go over symptoms and getting a thorough picture of the patient's overall health and everything that may be going on with them. He ordered LOTS of tests, some fairly exotic (the phlebotomist at the lab I used had to call their main office to get the codes and instructions for some of them because they're uncommon). The results came back and I saw Dr. Gebremedhin to find out what they were. Again, he was very patient and thorough about explaining what the results mean. As a result of the tests it was possible to rule out numerous causes of the fatigue I've been experiencing and narrow it down to only a few possibilities. I've started treatment for one of them and feel confident that we're on the right track to figuring this out and getting back to being my usual energetic self! I particularly like that Dr. Gebremedhin is being conservative about prescribing and isn't just throwing meds at my symptoms. I'm currently taking quite a few meds for other conditions (like they say, aging ain't for sissies) and really want to keep it all down to the essential minimum. Meanwhile, I'm going to give this first treatment a try and will be returning to see him in a couple of months, hopefully with good results to report! If you want a careful, thorough endocrinologist, I can recommend Dr. Gebremedhin. You can see more about his background on his website. Dr. Gebremedhin is originally from Ethiopia, but also trained at Loma Linda in California before coming to Kansas City. He does have a bit of an accent, but speaks slowly and clearly and makes sure you understand everything he's saying. I'm very pleased to have found him, and, as I said, I'm feeling very encouraged that there's a solution to this very annoying fatigue issue!

I returned from overseas and just wanted to update the family doctor on what I've been doing medically since then. I thought the new doctor Katzfy was approachable and nice to talk to, and I am new to the healthcare system in the United States. Imagine my surprise when I get a 671.00 bill. The reception, billing staff, and even the nursing seemed completely nonchalant about the exorbitant fees. I gained sympathy only from my insurance when they acknowledged that the fees they charged were completely abnormal for a first time patient visit. I cannot recommend this place, nor the doctor I visited anymore because I cannot trust them.
