Dutch Homemade - Yogurt lychee apricot

This is a review just for their ice cream, which can be summed up into: sweet, too sweet…read more I've tried 4 of their ice cream flavors now, and 2 of them have been a complete bust. The ones I didn't like: - The hazelnut just tasted like sugar, lacking any distinct flavor. - The yogurt lychee apricot tasted like yogurt plus sugar. I could barely taste any hint of lychee or apricot. The ones I thought were okay: - The strawberry was more like a sherbet. - The red velvet did not taste like red velvet, but I didn't find it too sweet at least. The cone they use also tastes like it's riddled with sugar. I actually didn't plan on coming here a second time, except that as I left, I saw a customer with a meringue disc on top of their ice cream, and I really wanted to try that as well. Two tips from me: 1. Turns out the meringue discs are free! How come it's not offered to every customer then? How come there's no sign for it? In any case, I'm letting you guys know now! If you want to spiff up your ice cream for free, ask for that meringue disc. 2. You get a cone + 1 scoop of ice cream for €2. If you want a cone + 2 scoops, it's €4..... Just buy 2 cones with 1 scoop of ice cream each then. I mean, if you don't want to, that's fine. But if they're not discounting the second scoop, then I'm getting a second cone, lol. Service-wise, I had a mixed experience. When I came yesterday, the person scooping the ice cream just did not care. However much they scooped the first time was however much the customer received... As a result, I saw some people with the tiniest scoops (like half the size of my single scoop)! Today, the person scooping the ice cream was a lot more diligent and competent. If the first scoop wasn't a lot, they'd scoop another smaller scoop so that every customer got roughly the same amount of ice cream. I'm sure not everyone pays attention to things like this, but I try to take note of small stuff from time to time. In this case, it's about making sure every customer can leave feeling like they're being treated the same. It's what sets the "I have hands" employees apart from the "I have hands and a brain" employees. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the ice cream, so I probably won't come back here, again.

Not the best ice cream I've had, but definitely a solid choice. I'm giving it 4 stars as some…read moreflavors are a major miss for me. For example, some ice cream flavors are really misleading. They're not really flavors at all, more like toppings. Whatever flavor I get is what I expect the ice cream itself to taste like, not what a few sparse chunks taste like. What I like to do is ask to try 2 flavors each time, then get the one I like more out of the 2. It's a nice way to eventually try out every flavor. One thing I'll give them extra kudos for is the lovely interior decor. I don't know exactly when it happened, but at some point they remodeled the place. It's basically a pink paradise now. I love it! P.S. The address on Yelp for this location is currently wrong. Luckily it's just one block over. Check the website for the correct address. P.P.S. The business hours on Yelp are also very wrong. Check their website for the most up to date hours.

Holland's first cookie dough bar! I read about it in the newspaper a few weeks back and today I…read morefound myself in Rotterdam so thought I'd give it a try. They have about 4 or 5 different types of cookie dough, and then all sorts of toppings and sauce you can add on top as well as ice cream for those warm summer days. I decided to go for the classic plain 'Baker's Dough' with white and dark chocolate chips added. Because you really can't go wrong with chocolate chip cookie dough! I got a medium because while I was in the line I thought the scoops of dough looked kind of small, but actually because the dough is so rich I really regretted it! I should have gotten a small, because it was pretty hard to get through the medium. But I persevered because I paid €4 for that dough! Overall, if you're a fan of cookie dough, I recommend Baker's Dough. Looking forward to trying all their different kinds of dough in the year to come ;)

I guess this place is good for a coffee but not as a cookie dough shop. They had some nice toppings to go on the dough, plus one could have ice cream too. My husband had the small scoop of red velvet, but unfortunately didn't feel well after eating it. I shared the small chocolate scoop with fresh strawberries and it tasted good. If you are expecting a cookie dough bar/cafe like they have in the USA you will be disappointed. We came from out of town to check it out, but I can't say that I will return again unless I'm already in the neighborhood shopping or visiting. Good luck with your new business. I advise you to add more flavors.
