The wait to get seen was 30 minutes, which I felt was very reasonable for a walk-in. Good wi-fi provided. Once inside, the nursing staff was very professional and competent. But, more impressive was the PA, Zoppi, who really took a lot of time on my examination and was clear in his explanation of my eye exam. I was leaving soon thereafter on a cruise, so I wanted to ensure I didn't have recurring or more severe issues in another country. I couldn't speak more highly of this provider. This would have been a five-star visit had it not been for the receptionist. In fact, I would have left the office had I not been charged my co-pay upon check-in.

Their ipads records everything and it will transcribe every single minutia detail in your medical history including concerns or questions you have and will write things down without actually formally diagnosing you. Their lab test for hormones is not only inaccurate but they charge you "preferential cash" for it, when you can get your own full hormones panel at quest for $100+ less! My testosterone levels were imcredibly low and the doctor dismissed it as perimenopause without blinking. When I brought my results to an actual OBGYN, it took him 2 seconds to see the test was done incorrectly as the results showed the hormone levels of a DEAD person.... This can have serious consequences if you start things like testosterone / hormone therapy (when not even needed!) and will come back to bite when you are looking for life insurance and you will have to do unnecessary follow-ups to get coverage. Compassion and empathy are not the way of the practice - this is a pure factory money grab experience. Try the new baptist health primary care office for professionalism and association with an actual hospital instead of a place that pushes their tests, vitamins etc..

Shortly after, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) informed me that I was actively having a myocardial infarction (a heart attack) and ordered me to rush to the ER. In a state of total panic, I went straight to Baptist Health ER, where they initiated full cardiac protocols, including blood work, x-rays, and monitoring. After a terrifying 45-minute wait, the ER physician reviewed the paperwork brought from Dr. Stein's office and discovered a glaring error: the second page of the report explicitly stated that the EKG leads had been placed on the wrong side of my body. It was a false positive caused entirely by staff incompetence. When I called the practice to report this, the NP was incredibly dismissive, stating, "My bad, I don't read those interpretation notes." I spoke with the Office Manager, who promised that she and Dr. Stein would follow up with me. It has now been two weeks. I have received zero follow-up, no apology, and they haven't even called to give me my routine blood work results. As a cancer survivor, regular blood monitoring is critical to my ongoing health. To completely ignore a patient after a traumatizing, costly, and entirely avoidable ER scare is unacceptable. Please be warned and protect your health--avoid this practice.

With that said, this doctor is a rare gem - someone who truly cares about his patients and really knows his stuff. The reason you wait so long - yes, inconvenient - is because he takes his time to actually evaluate you and answer any and all questions. He provided my father with a more thorough physical assessment than his own geriatrician during his yearly physical. They even use manual blood pressure cuffs to get accurate readings (in both arms) and the DOCTOR is the one taking the measurements! The office staff can come off as abrasive, and I don't make excuses for that, but they do eventually warm up to you after a few visits. If you're looking for a quality specialist who is humble, knowledgeable and approachable - so long as you have the ability to spend some time in the waiting room - Dr. Gaier will take great care of you or your loved one.
