I've brought it to a VW dealer over 10 times and it's been there for 2 weeks because they can't figure out the issue. I would never buy a car from Autex or a used car in NewHampshire period. Consumer protection laws favor the dealer and not consumer, so these dealers cannot be trusted. 2017 Vw Spartwagon with only 40,000 miles when purchased. This time he gave me a different sob story about how he didn't want to detail my wife's car at all, because he thought it was so repulsive he didn't want to touch it, which is total bullshit, but my wife "begged him" to clean it. Then he said he had to hire a "subcontractor" to do the cleaning, and he couldn't get to the exterior of the car because the interior took so long and they started late. All lame excuses. The first story was that he did the exterior of the car, and then didn't want to do the interior, so doubled the price. Now the story changes to he did the interior first and didn't have time to do the exterior. Well, both the interior and exterior were done that day, so you're full of shit. And the part about the "subcontractor" is irrelevant, if even true. This guy is the worst "business man" I've dealt with in a long time. He runs a company whose job it is do to the dirty work that vehicle owners don't want to do themselves, then doubles his price when his dainty sensibilities are overwhelmed. He doesn't understand that when you give someone a price for work, that you do the work FOR THAT PRICE. If you miscalculated the amount of work YOU eat the difference, or you refuse to do the work up front, and renegotiate the price BEFORE you start any work. If it's more work than you expected you don't do half of the work and then renegotiate the price, which is what you did. This is business 101, but given your chosen career is cleaning other peoples cars I doubt you took that course in college. It's my opinion that this idiot is probably confusing my wife's car with some other car after 3 years and harassing me, again, about leaving him a bad review. Too bad. Boo hoo. A few days later my daughter returned to Maine when she experienced a problem on her way home. I called Gauthiers and explained the car wasn't safe to travel with and asked what was my best course of action. They asked for my address and sent a tow truck to my house three hours away the next morning. I was shocked to say the least knowing how customer service in America has degraded over the years. The garage had experienced a problem with their alignment machine which they weren't aware of at the time. They ended up fixing the issue, replacing two tires and bringing the vehicle back to us . This is the only review I have ever posted and felt the need to let the people know that great people and great customer service is alive and well at Gauthier's garage!
