We are going thru the same situation as some of you. We had an amazing lady, she's been with us almost 4 years. on 10/11/24 we were supposed to have therapy and 45 minutes before her supervisor, Esmeralda which she's been with the company about a week, called us to inform us that Aeshia, the therapist, will not be returning No explanation why. I asked who was replacing her and Esmeralda said that they did not have anyone available. I also asked to have a supervisor call and nobody has. It's frustrating!!! now my grandson who's 7 yrs old has no therapy This company goes thru changes in personnel and as we all Know this is not well taken for our kids in the spectrum Worst company ever read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are harmful and have no sense of responsibility to their clients or interest in their clients' needs. Three days after my very young and inexperienced BI thanked me for being so welcoming to her and creating a great working environment (we had bent over backwards to make everyone on the team feel welcome and amicably did everything they asked us to do, including move my car out of my own driveway so the BI could park there - yes, they asked me to do this), she quit with no notice saying she felt uncomfortable. There was no attempt to talk to us or have a supervisor talk to us. On a Friday, she told my children she would be back on Monday. On Monday, we received a call from her supervisor saying she would not be back. That left my son without the services he desperately needs. I spent that week looking for another company and trying to work things out with insurance. That Friday, I was told they had another BI available and we could start services the following Wednesday. On Tuesday, the day before we were to start services, I got a missed call from the BI's immediate supervisor. Instead of leaving a message, she sent a text asking me to call her, yet she failed to tell me what the call was regarding. I figured it was about starting services the next day, but as I have a difficult time trusting the company after they left my son in the lurch, a few details in addition to "call me back," would have been much more professional. When I called the woman back, we confirmed the start date for the next day, but I reiterated my displeasure about the manner in which everything had been handled. I also let her know that I wasn't pleased her supervisor hadn't called me, as she had told me 8 days prior that he would. About an hour later, this woman's supervisor did call under the guise of trying to work things out. At first, he came across as wanting to listen to my concerns. However, after I detailed everything that had harmed my 7 year-old autistic son, he flatly informed me that their policy was to let BIs leave a job site with no notice or attempt to communicate with the client and that the policy wasn't going anywhere. When I let him know how harmful that was to their clients, usually children who need services, and the effect it had had on my child, he told me that was how it was. He also launched into a defense of the company and excuses as to why I was going so long without services. When I told him I needed someone who could commit to my son and that I am in fear that we will start with someone else who will also leave with no notice, he told me he couldn't guarantee that wouldn't happen. That is a HUGE problem! I also let him know about the issues I had with the BI's immediate supervisor who had done nothing to intervene and mitigate the situation and also underestimated the time it would take to get a new BI. Additionally, on the phone call the day before services were to resume, she issued a veiled threat by asking me if I was really willing to work with her team, which I let her supervisor know. He repeated the veiled threat. I told him that I had no issues with the new BI and would be very nice to her, as I was to the old one, and that the only person I had an issue with was the supervisor, but that for the sake of my son I would work with her as much as needed, but as little as possible. This was when he told me I was telling him that I was not willing to work with the supervisor (not at all what I had said), and that we would not be getting services until we had a team meeting. I tried to argue this point, as my son needs services, but this man was not interested. So now my 7 year-old son is not getting his needs met, and I am looking for another company. If I could give them 0 stars for their lack of concern for their clients and their clients' best interests, I would. read more

Have used Intercare for a couple of years. This company has a high turnaround of low level employees. Most have a second jop yet they are very good at what they do. The problem is with their scheduling department. Intercares scheduling department never calls to inform their client. That the therapist is out we just sit at home and wait. When you call to ask where is the therapist you get a recording or are on hold forever or the system hangs up on you. Will file a complaint with Kaiser read more

The first guy they sent sat my daughter at her desk and gave her a container of slime then ignored her the entire time to play on his phone, when she cried or had a tantrum he suggested I just give her her pacifier, which we were actively trying to break her from since she's 3 and her teeth were already starting to shift. After I asked for a new BI, things went silent for weeks until I called and got the run around from multiple departments, I finally asked for their supervisor and suddenly they had a new BI to start, absolutely BS, the supervisor informed me that was not normal and that in the mean time the case manager should've conducted a session or two while we waited and that there should have been some form of communication to me, next BI starts the following week, he's cool, my child liked him, things just kept happening and he wasn't able to make sessions, I get it, life happens, I've tried to be patient, but they call an hour after your session is to start that the Bi isn't coming in, offer a replacement and to "call you back" and then never do. Another BI was supposed to start this week while they waited on the other one, and they finally called yesterday to tell me the original BI was coming back, neither showed up, called scheduling, they said they were going to see what happened and call me back, still haven't called back. The communication is poor, it seems no one knows anything regarding scheduling, and I'm not even sure if they keep records of previous BIs they've sent to your house, or just don't even care since they tried to send the first guy back to my house as a replacement while the second guy was out. This journey is so hard, the last thing parents of a child newly diagnosed with Autism need is more judgement and unkindness. The BAs that worked with my son were kind and good with him. Jo was wonderful and fun. Unfortunately, the leadership and administration is greatly lacking in my experience. I am a health compliance inspector and I can tell where the breakdown began. First, I am not an expert on Autism and I am new to all of this, so when my insurance told me what company to go with I did it. Then I began online training and quickly began to educate myself on where ABA began, the research and how to implement techniques as well as, why those techniques are implemented. I listened to the BA and followed instruction and the program. The first issues I saw were how often schedules were mixed up. I didn't think there was very good communication between their scheduling office and the BAs. The second issue was we were told the supervisor usually would come 1 time a week. Well they changed out supervisor 3 times in a few months and with each new supervisor came a new program for the poor BA to follow. They all observed him for a day and each one felt there was another area of focus he needed? hmmm okay. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I spoke up for the first time about a technique that made me uncomfortable. The 2nd supervisor did not want me to provide affection to my son when he asked for it unless he was calm. The fact that he never used to allow hugs, kisses or any affection, to now he is able to come to me and say "I need hugs" was a relief and a great accomplishment. How can I as his mother tell him, "not until you are calm". Of course it took him so long to calm down and after teaching him to tell me what he needed and encouraging affection I would have to walk away from him when he cried and asked for a hug. It was the only time I said, this will not work for our family. There was, of course, a new supervisor starting that day and changing his program around again and she and the old supervisor said okay. The one who was to be the 3 supervisor to start was talking to the 2nd sup and telling her how she is ran all over Hell traveling to do her job so what's one more place...describing us. The worst was right after they left, someone called and said it was reported to her that I was refusing to go along with the program and I said I told them his crying was unacceptable and I would give him attention each time he cried. That was simply not true. I explained it was only when he asked me for a hug, when it was apparent he was exhausted and genuinely going through a sensory overload. I explained that when he was having a tantrum, and showing physical aggression that I would get up and walk away with no problem. I told her that there was a difference between the two and it was rare he even asked me for a hug. She said I could give him a hug for a little while but eventually I would have to withhold that hug and affection until he is calm. I said affection is not a reward its love and he is three. She said since I refuse to follow the program then ABA is not appropriate for my son. I agreed that this company was not appropriate for us and that was that. She said he had to conform to this or he would be age 16 and asking for affection when it was not appropriate. All children are different, my son is not just Autistic, he is an individual. It was a minor adjustment I asked for and this lady was so unkind and judgemental. I want parents to know, you are the only real advocate your child has and you should never feel uncomfortable with a particular form of therapy or a provider. I have spoken to other companies that have agreed and feel making the therapy specific to his needs is what will work best. They said we are a team and parents know their children better than anyone else. That sounds like the kind of company I should have been with the entire time. This has all been overwhelming, and I choose to find a company with empathy, compassion and that understands more than just Autism. I choose to find a company that understands humanity, children, diversity and individuality. I care more about my child's happiness then if he "acts normal" when he is 16. I was told I have to weed out the bad companies until I found a good one, but its still frustrating because he doesnt deserve this. read more

The therapist are inexperienced. I've had this company for my child for 2 years now. Really wanting to find a new company. The girls in the office are terriable! There have been many incidents where they have not called me when the therapist cancelled. So I was waiting at home and NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP. They do nothing but apoligize for the mistake. It's a company that really cares about the kids and the overall experience being the best it possibly can.

This is the very bottom of the barrel when it comes to ABA agencies. Do not work here or receive services for your child here. I worked here for a year and can say this with absolute certainty Behavioral Interventionists (BIs) are the ones who work with your child every day. They receive 2 weeks (not even full days) of very simplistic training with no practical experience. They will then have two shadow sessions wherein they will rarely be able to take the lead. That's it. They are then working independently for most sessions with your child. Program managers (these are not even BCBAs) will come along once a week, but these are often just BIs with a year or so of experience. Clinical Supervisors will only appear at clients' homes once a month, which is a completely ineffective amount to affect any change or have any real knowledge of a client's needs and the family dynamic. The BIs also have no one to turn to if they have issues with their direct supervisors, issues with personal stress, etc. as they don't have advisors or HR contacts outside of the VP for the whole company who is extremely unreachable to entry-level employees. Pay is likewise of the lowest tier and benefits are the same. Potential employees: avoid this place at any cost. Any other agency will offer you more money, better scheduling, better training, better supervision, and not allow you to undergo enough stress to burn you out completely. Families: allowing your child to receive treatment from this agency is tantamount to them receiving no treatment at all, or actively harming their mental health. You will have a teenager/young adult fresh out of college or in college trying to learn anything about psychology while being the primary controller of your child's mental well-being and behavioral development. Again, go to any other agency, nothing could be worse. read more

One of the worst company to have my son go through. Therapists are not trained at all. Most of them probably have no degree in this field and "0" experience. Their LA team is pretty good ( CS, BCBA ...) but their bayarea team is playing with our kids mental health by experimenting with new, inexperienced, brainless therapists and to support their brainless sessions, so called CS ("case specialist") come in and do nothing. When we being parents suggest them something which could be valuable, they comeup with a theory called as " in the literature" its mentioned like that and it would be best if we follow that. But they fail to understand tht every kid is so damn different and needs a strategy which fits that kids needs. Their way of running sessions rather helping him, harmed him so much that we started wondering whats going on with our son. Once we stopped this f**** company/therapy, he has been talking so much, just not talking but speaking which makes sense and a varied speech. They give very very high priority to toy as positive reinforcement than verbal reinforcement which is really bad, But they justify that by saying its in the literature. But they fail to understand that every kid is so different. I hope no parents have to go through what we went through. Its a living hell for your kid. My son is never been rigid with his schedule or even when he plaing with blocks he is fine if someone comes and crashes it. He enjoys it more. But this company was following a rigid session pattern. They followed the same routine. Never changed.. They need some serious mental treatment and not our kids. Please Please parents dont allow this to happen to your kid. I hope this helps... read more

One of the worst companies to deal with, extremely unprofessional and uncaring, not responsible absolutely certainly do not recommend. I agree with all of the previous comments (from Dublin, CA). Multiple problems and issues not just one to mention - quality (BII and supervisor), scheduling (sudden cancellations, frequent no shows, no make up sessions, punctuality issues (most times late if they do show up), company policy (the right hand does not know what left is doing) - no management supervision. I had this agency for my daughter for over ayear and it has taken my tolerance until now to write this honest review. I have tried to escalate issues multiple times, left messages but there is no accountability from ANYONE including the owner Mr. Noni. Unfortunately, this company is a vendor for our HMO. My son was diagnosed in high school, he's 24, now, and has been receiving "therapy" for over a year. He is not progressing, and thinks they are his friends. Professional boundaries, anyone? They have supposedly been teaching him life skills, to get him ready to live on his own (he's high functioning, but...). So far, he's been practicing resume writing and mock interviews. He gets those services through another agency, and Intercare has been informed of this, yet, they keep to their schedule, charging him copays. More about THAT fiasco, later! Last Holiday season, he attended a job fair and got himself hired at a retail store, seasonal, and, of course, he was the first to be let go, but he got himself a job, by himself! Guess what, "Therapists", part of teaching those on the spectrum is knowing that each person has their own unique needs! They are threatening to drop him, because he's late to a lot of sessions. He literally has no concept of time, it's part of the way his brain works. They are going to "punish" him, for something that's beyond his control? How about thinking outside of the box...making him the last appointment of the day? How about helping him with any of the fifteen calendars and watches and digital tools that I've given him? I am disgusted, my son is not able to write a check, deal with a flat tire, etc. After more than a year. Then there's the copay billing...my son was informed recently that he owes between $700, and $1400! This is for copays that he inquired about, from the beginning and was told, no, you don't have a copay! Intercare, I pay your salary and I'm so done with the worst therapy, ever! This is so unfortunate, because I begged the school, Kaiser, whoever would listen for ASD therapy. When we were offered this service, it seemed like a miracle to my son and my entire family...it's turned into a nightmare. read more

No company is perfect, but this company is always trying to improve both the customer experience and the employee experience. The worst company you can ever hire for your child! They have bunch of bullies for supervisors and treats their employees horrible in front of us. Their programming is horrible, my daughter's behavior has gotten horrible and they did nothing to help, they are charging insurance butt load of money, we kept on asking for the program to change they never listens, if you have a request they do the opposite of what your needs are. If a supervisor cancels supervision the session goes on if you cancel one time supervision they cancel all day session. They are pretty much hurting the kids! They have Elizabeth as a supervisor it's her way or the highway, Ashley as well is a supervisor plays the roll as if she is the owner of the company running everyone her way and calls her self the boss in front of us, she always says "I am the boss you need to do what I am yelling you" we reached out to the CEO Gary he refused to give us the time of if day to speak with us first then include the clinical team. This company is the worst, I was admitted to the hospital while I was pregnant because of the stress they caused me, while I was at the hospital Ashley and Darcy who are supervisors kept on texting and bothering me even that I told them they stress me out and therefore I am at the hospital. These people don't give a damn about family needs only about themselves, they go out of their way to make sure they put in their hours, they come and do nothing, they don't even help their employee with anything not even filling out the new paperwork at the new months where the employees does it and it takes away from session time. I can go on and on about this company but enough wasting my time, I let them go and I am with much respectful company that respect my home and it's privacy!
