Good service. I came in for a cam walker boot and was able to get it the same day. They just had to call my insurance.

He then sent me to a prosthetic place to have a boot made and had he examined me, he would have known my foot faces right, I can't wear a boot or a shoe. On subsequent visits they ALWAYS wanted to do an x-ray, which I refused, since he said there was nothing he could do. They did the impressions for insoles and showed me shoes that looked like 9.99 Walmart house shoes. On the last visit, she asked me why I was there (this after getting a phone call about an appointment) and I told her the call said orthotics were in. She came in with ONE, not both, and they made it incorrectly after me telling them each and every visit I have no arch anymore (I did not accept it and they still billed my insurance for it.) Also, he ordered a power chair and the company said he didn't sign it so they sent it back. Asked the girl in the office and she said yes they sent it back. Company said they never got it. Got an insurance statement today that said they did smoking counseling, no such thing. They have a scent dispersor in the waiting room that's horrible for people with allergies.

Gave them my insurance when i made the appointment, come in today and they say I still need to pay out of pocket because they are still not sure if they take my insurance. I then ask what will happen with my payment if they do take my insurance and she made a face and said "uhhh i dont knowww if we take your insurance" So no answer as to what will happen to my money IF they do take my insurance and i guess its standard practice to not care about looking into if insurance is accepted before the patient arrives. To be clear i would pay out of pocket with no problem if they had diligently looked into it and they didnt accept my insurance.

There were a couple benches and a few chairs. There's a huge octagonal bench thingy in the middle of the room. Almost looks like it use to be a fountain. I walked in at the same time as an older couple. The check in process was fast and easy and they took my copay immediately. I was moved into a patient room at about 12:25 and Dr. Karr came in to see me at 12:45 At some point I heard the doctor pass by my room and say something like, "these are my last 3 right?" I assumed he meant last 3 patients before he went to lunch. I thought I was next because at that point it was 12:30 and I had seen on the sign in sheet that someone who arrived before me had a 12:15 appointment. The point of that is.. I knew I wasn't supposed to be last. But out of the 3 patients, I was the last to be seen. It's not a big deal, just made me go a bit over on my lunch break. The doctor took X-rays and confirmed my suspicion of a stress fracture in my left foot. I thought he would give me a brace but instead he put my on an anti-inflammatory and steroids. I'm not a fan of taking pills so I'd actually prefer a brace (which is what my east coast podiatrist gave me when I lived there and had a stress fracture in my other foot). I've seen Doctor Karr in the past for issues in my right foot. He was quick to give me a cortisone shot. I didn't realize it was a Cortisone shot until later. At the time he just said he was giving me a shot. It worked, although I would have liked to know before what it was. Dr. Karr is an overall good doctor, but as someone with naturalist tendencies, I feel that he resorts to pharmaceuticals rather quickly, when other options may be available. Also, most of his clientele appear to be middle aged and older, so as a millennial he comes off as a little awkward.. Personal opinion. Lol.

West Coast is in Palm Harbor, near my home. I walked in and told the receptionist what I needed to have done. She asked for my prescription and orthodic, then went back to the doctor. When she returned, I was told that he was with another client, being fit for a boot, but it should not be too long. She then went back to the doctor, and when she came back, informed me it would cost $50 for the adjustment. Being in extreme pain I agreed to it. She again went back to the doctor and upon her return, told me they usually deal with appointments only. I took my prescription and left. I do not like to be treated this way. I could have been told up front that they deal only with appointments, instead of being lead along wasting my time.

My 83-year-old mother has Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease. She has suffered from the pain caused…read moreby her heels curved in a 45-degree angle for well over a decade. Since she did not live in an area serviced by Westcoast Brace and Limb, she could never find anyone to fit her with the correct Ankle Foot Orthotic (AFO) or brace. That all changed when she moved to the Tampa Bay area. Making our first appointment at the Brandon office with Liz was quick. One call, one appointment. When the day arrived, we met with Walt, a Certified Orthotist. He was the real deal. My mother's condition was complicated, so he had to take his time to find a solution. As he figured out how to find the correct product to use, he called in on his colleague Juan, a certified Pedorthist (a specialist trained to modify footwear). Between the two of them, they came up with a working solution. I prayed that this time my mom might finally be able to walk without severe pain. After a few weeks, I received a call from Liz. The shoes with braces had arrived. Yajaida made sure the insurance authorizations needed were there at the time of our visit. So, that was a big relief. So, we go back to the Brandon office for her first fitting. It went well but more was needed. After a couple of weeks, all the pieces came into place, including my mother, but then came Covid, and like everyone else, we had to shelter-in-place. Ugh! Finally, we got a call to come in. Of course, the office was taking all the mandated health precautions. That reinforced my trust in the team. So, mom tried on her new shoes with braces. She stood up and smiled. Hope, I thought. I was right. She walked back and forth inside the safety of the parallel bars or, as we nicknamed them, "the catwalk." We did have a couple of follow-up visits to make slight adjustments, but thanks to Westcoast Brace and Limb, we finally had a real fix to a decade long struggle. My mom is truly comfortable, stable, and pain-free. Thank you, Mauricio Rosas
