He removed the old kitchen tap, which was what I was having trouble with, and gave me some tips on how to install the new tap once I found one that fit. He then installed the bathroom tap and provided some other advice relating to the bathroom sink. He did not charge me for the kitchen tap installation. I found a kitchen tap that fit, and it is now installed and working great thanks to John. I will call him if I need any plumbing in the future. Later that night I tried to take a shower and, well there I was ankle-high in smelly shit water. Frustrated, I called up Watersmart Systems Limited (I saw them on a commercial, I saw they were direct competitors to the Rooter brothers). They turned up 20 minutes I placed the phone call, I was absolutely floored. They actually brought in proper technology. A camera, and tools and everything. Martin and Lewis from the Rooter Brothers walked into the bathroom with nothing but wrenches and now thinking back, I was wrong to trust them fixing a clogged drain with just that. The plumber, Wallace, was a funny and down-to-earth guy. They took a real good look at my pipes, and showed me how to do it every step of the way. Both he and his partner Warwick at the same time inserted their drain-snake in my tight pipes, I had never thought they could fit both in there at once. The process took about 15 minutes and they laboured very hard, and they were comfortable enough that they pounded the blockage enough that they released their cleaners far into my pipes. It was such a wonderful experience. If I ever have any other issues with my pipes, I'll give them another call. I would suggest anyone else reading this to do it too! The shower after was so wonderful. My pipes were so lubricated! And I've never seen the drain so gaping before. I'm doubtful it'll get clogged again anytime soon.

In 2024, some friends had a small concrete patio completed by this company. Initially, I found it…read moreunusual that a plumbing company was also offering concrete work, but I was reassured after hearing about their experience and seeing some of their previous projects. As a kid, I had met Matt at a family event. The enthusiasm and easy-going nature of the team left a positive impression on me, and I ended up hiring them for additional plumbing work inside. I really wanted to help a newer company and support local contractors. One mistake I made was not obtaining other quotes. That turned out to be a costly lesson. I had a patio and walkway job completed which was followed by a driveway project. The initial driveway pour did not go well. Matt attributed the issues to the concrete truck driver and assured me the problems could be corrected through resurfacing. Unfortunately, the resurfacing began flaking off after the first rainfall. The company then removed the driveway and repoured it. During this process, they altered the design to make the installation easier. While the new layout may have simplified the work, it no longer matched the appearance we had originally discussed. At some point in the patio project a window sill was damaged. During the driveway project, my neighbours garage siding was damage. In an attempt to clean up, the crew returned to power wash debris from my brick home. Unfortunately, power washed portions of the brand new driveway and stone foundation, causing additional damage. At this point, Matt stopped responding to my calls George then stepped in, took responsibility, and expressed a desire to make things right. I give him full credit for initially taking that approach. He said all the right things, which earned my trust and gave me confidence that the remaining issues would be resolved. George refunded me $1000 for the damage done to my home and driveway. They also fixed the neighbours garage when I reminded them. However, when I began following up and asking for accountability on the bigger outstanding concerns, communication became increasingly difficult. Calls often went unanswered, and I felt my attempts to reach the company were being avoided. On several occasions, I was left with the impression that my concerns were being dismissed rather than addressed. I also found that when difficult questions were raised, George became easily frustrated. His tone would change during conversations, his voice would become elevated, and discussions sometimes included swearing over the phone and in text messages. What upset me most was that during one particularly heated phone call, George shared highly personal information about Matt and his family. Regardless of the circumstances, I found that deeply inappropriate and unprofessional. My experience started with optimism and trust, but ultimately became a frustrating process marked by poor workmanship, property damage, communication issues, and a lack of accountability. I am left with the feeling that this project was handled by people who were not adequately experienced for the scope of the work. Between the two failed driveway pours, the unsuccessful resurfacing, the redesign of the driveway, the property damage, and the ongoing communication issues, the final result did not reflect the level of professionalism or craftsmanship I expected. What should have been a straightforward project became a lengthy and frustrating experience, and I was ultimately left feeling as though my driveway had been completed by amateurs rather than experienced concrete professionals. George was going to provide funds to help cover a third attempt by a concrete company. He has since backed out of his agreement as spring of 2026

My wife and I have been using Frey's for several years. We first hired them because of a leak with our hot water tank. Since then they've installed our water softener and we used them to renovate our ensuite and guest bathrooms, both of which turned out beautifully. Our guests love our bathrooms! From a service side, and I'm big on personal service, they always make us feel comfortable, answer all our questions, and are prompt and professional. Prices are very reasonable too. Never had a negative experience them, but if you're looking to get a quote on a bathroom renovation you'll probably have to wait a week or two - they're well worth it. To be fair, I think that timeframe is pretty much what you'd expect from any contractor these days.

After the second missed appointment which we had to contact him, his response was the same, no cell service. We decided not to be disappointed s third time. When we sent text stating our time is as valuable as his, he became defensive and rude. We requested he stop sending text messages which he refused to honor. The take away is if Cole has an opportunity to go out on paying job, he will blow off any scheduled estimates without the decency of notifying you. Cole sent us the following text, " Ok it's an estimate. this was an emergency appointment I left my house 5am this morning for. Did not think I would be here all day. If you called me for an emergency at 2am, I would be there. If you don't know an estimate compared to actual repairs I'm sorry I can't help you."
