I have suffered with lower back pain for many years. I went to my doctor to seek treatment. I had an MRI done and it was the most frustrating thing in the world. She already told me, I already knew, that I had back pain. Wow, what a disappointing diagnosis. Western medicine kind of sucks. I have been here several times now for both adjustments and massages and I always receive first class service. Dr. Wen is very knowledgeable and caring in his practice. I have been seeing Dr. Wen for a few years before he moved his office from Market Street to Totem Lake. I was out of town for a while, and when I returned home, I found out that Dr. Wen had moved office. I did not have his contact info, so I kept searching in Yelp for the best chiropractor in Kirkland. Luckily, I found him on Yelp and have been seeing him again. Dr. Wen is the best chiropractor I have ever seen, he patiently listens to my problems, carefully analyzes my gait, diagnoses the root cause, and was able to give me proper treatment through a combination of adjustment and physical therapy. Dr. Wen gives me homework in an app with video of different exercises which could help me get stronger and better. I can log my activity to keep track of my progress. I accidentally injured my lower back and was in terrible pain. Dr. Wen returned my voicemail while other didn't. I prepared to be told to keep going back since that's my experience with most chiopractors in the past. Surprisingly, my back issue was resolved 90% in two visits. Dr. Frank is unlike any other chiropractor I've met. I shopped around with a few chiropractors in the area and got the same old tired pitch of x number of sessions, contracts, etc for $120-150 a pop. Dr. Frank was different right from the get go in that he focused on what my goals and needs were, understood my budget and timeline, and gave me immediate, actionable solutions. No contracts, no nonsense. I was in a tight pinch because I had injured myself shortly before my physical agility test for the WA police test. My traps, neck, and back were a mess, and I had tennis elbow which made it hurt to grip anything. No bueno. This was one of the best massage experience I had. The masseuse is very skilled with her hands and elbows. She applied just the right amount of pressure, enough for the relaxation and freeing up of tense muscles and not so much to cause unbearable pain. The place is in a quite business neighborhood in Kirkland, in a small building. The clinic is located on 1st floor, very nice and clean office. The massage room had pleasant soothing music playing. Oil was used for the massage which wasn't very sticky and messy, and lightly scented. Booking experience was also very pleasant, as I called the number to book, the line went into the answering machine, and I hung up not leaving a message. I've been having pain on my right shoulder for more than 5 years. I've played volleyball, tennis or badminton throughout those years and sometimes when I tried to do an overhead spike/serve/smash motion, I felt a sharp pain on my right shoulder when it hits the ball. It felt like one of the muscle joints got pinched or stung. The pain would last for several seconds and then it subsided. I could continue to play the game again but I would get the same pain if I did that overhead spike/serve/smash motion over and over again. After the game, my shoulder would get really sore and I had to rest for several days. My shoulder didn't bother me at all during normal daily activities. It only bothered me when I played sports, doing that particular motion. Because of the pain, I had to go easy when I played sports so not to push my shoulder too hard. It's so frustrating not be able to play in competitive level now. About 2 months ago, while I was playing badminton in the Seattle Badminton Club, I saw a flyer for shoulder injury clinic with coach Tao and Dr. Wen. I immediately signed up for it. In the session, I learned that the shoulder injury can be caused by bad form when you swing your arm and the repeated use of that will also cause inflammation or worse, tear in the muscle tendons. Dr. Wen seemed very knowledgeable about the shoulder injury and he was a badminton player too, so I thought to give him a try. I've asked him for another follow up session to look at my shoulder. On my first visit, Dr. Wen did regular examinations, check my range of motions, etc. He was able to identify the main cause of my shoulder pain. I was having shoulder impingement and one of the muscle tendons in the rotator cuff is very weak, which caused it to get aggravated easily. He did some adjustments to my shoulder, prescribed couple of exercise sets to strengthen the weaker muscle group and a tape to protect my shoulder when I play sports. As I keep doing the exercises, I've experienced less and less pain frequency when I played sports. Finally after 6 weeks or so, Dr. Wen ordered me to stop using the tape protection and try go all out with my arm swing. So I went to the gym, smashed couple balls. To my surprise, my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore. The sharp pain I felt before is no longer there. I can just keep smashing and smashing and still don't feel anything. I also notice that I have more power now in my arm swing, probably due to the strengthening exercises as well. This is so amazing! I am now pain free. Thank you Dr. Wen! Since then, I've come back several times again to check on other problems with my wrist and knee area. Dr. Wen is very patient in listening to all my problems. He's very knowledgeable and know a lot about other sport injuries, not just chiropractic stuff. He can pinpoint the exact cause of my problem area and offer some treatment plans. Sometimes he would go home and do more research about my problem area and then he would just call/email me to suggest better alternative for treatment plans. He's the kind of doctor who really care about his patients and would go above and beyond for the well being of his patients. If you have any problems with your muscles, tendons or joints area, not just related to chiropractic stuff, I would suggest you give Dr. Wen a try. The massage therapist, Tori, asked questions; listening and applying exactly what I said when doing my massage.
