Had to go to Aurora so thought was, shop for a batterry while stuck in Aurora. Battery checked out fine, so that leaves major problem or? Car acting fine so figure just a fluke. Fast forward, yesterday go into Walmart, come out battery dead. First thought, battery is fine, what the heck! I get a jump, got stuff to do do, so "driving on a prayer". This AM went to Kiowa Auto repair. Shellie happened to be out front, she and another technician, Dustin, were manning the fort. Dustin asked if it the battery had been checked under a load, my answer, no? Turns out battery had a bad cell. Shellie priced checked for me, I volunteered to go to NAPA, get new battery, come back and let Shellie install it for me. As I am pulling out, Dustin noticed something wierd with the back right tire. When I got back they insisted on checking it out. Between him and Shellie they figured out I had lost a bolt on the rear brake caliber and the other one was loose. They wouldn't let me leave without fixing it. They said, "My saftey was their top concern". Later after I left I realised the implications if they had just let me leave, a vivid imagination, working over time. If the rear wheel brake locked up going 55mph, which out here is an every day thing, it would have ended badly. Thank you guys. I trust Kiowa Auto repair and they will get all my business from now on.

The previous mechanic had over reacted, the rotors could be turned, but yes I did need new struts...total cost ~$250. Since then, I always try to make it back to Sid's. Today reminded me why. I was getting a busy signal at Sid's and was in a hurry to make an appointment for my brakes to be checked again...so I called another mechanic. Who proceeded to lecture me on all the things that could be wrong, tell me how busy they were so couldn't guarentee a time, and more or less talked down to me. Once I had hung up with them, I called Sid's again. They told me the likely problem, the approximate time for repair, and to go ahead and come in this afternoon.
