I am extremely disappointed and concerned about the way my vehicle was handled by this shop…read more A month ago, my car showed sensor warning lights, so I specifically brought it in to make sure the vehicle was SAFE to drive. At that time, I had absolutely NO brake issues whatsoever. My brakes were working fine before bringing my car to this shop. After a test drive, I was told to first get an oil change elsewhere because they had no openings that day, and then return for diagnostics regarding the sensor lights. We followed their instructions exactly and returned the car. I paid $517.06 for repairs that included fixing broken wiring to the right front wheel and replacing the front wheel ABS speed sensor. I was also told the ABS module was bad and expensive to replace, but Liz clearly told me that replacing the module was NOT necessary and that the car would still be safe to drive as long as the dashboard lights did not bother me. I even asked again, in front of a witness, if the car would be safe after the repairs, and I was reassured that it would be. Only TWO WEEKS later, my brakes completely failed while driving. The car would barely stop. We immediately brought it back to the shop. They kept the car for days and then charged us another $1,871.48 for brake repairs, including calipers, rotors, pads, brake lines, and the master cylinder. After continuing to have issues, they kept the car again for over two additional weeks and charged us another $187.62. In total, we paid $2,576.16 When we When we contacted the shop, instead of taking responsibility, they attempted to blame us and claimed they had warned us about the ABS module causing brake failure -- which is absolutely NOT what we were told originally. They even added wording to the receipt claiming we ACKNOWLEDGED that the brake system could fail without replacing the module. What they did not know is that I recorded the conversation where we were specifically told the car would still be safe to drive without replacing the module. I specifically explained that icdidnt want to put mlney if it was too expensive but ehat they y did not know is that I recorded the conversation where we were specifically told the car would still be safe to drive without replacing the module. Throughout this entire process, we were repeatedly told "they are working on it," while being left without answers, without reliable transportation, and paying thousands of dollars for repairs that still did not fix the problem. This experience has been stressful, expensive, and honestly terrifying. Brake failure is not a minor issue -- it puts lives at risk. I strongly encourage others to ask questions, document everything, and get second opinions before trusting major safety repairs here.

1-Star Review I brought my vehicle in for simple electrical…read morework related to a detachable steering wheel: * hook up the horn power connection * Hook up cruise control accessibility * Connect the volume/radio control module When I dropped the car off, there were no ABS, traction control, or airbag lights on. During the work, the mechanic broke the clock spring. Instead of stopping and properly repairing the issue, they ordered a replacement part and sent me home anyway with traction control and e-brake warning lights on, meaning the car effectively had no ABS or traction control. I was told the vehicle was "safe to drive." This happened on back roads in Vermont, during snowy conditions. The car lost control, and I nearly crashed. That decision put my safety at serious risk. When I returned , the situation was worse: * ABS light on * Traction control light on * Airbag light on None of these were present before this shop touched my car. I was also told there were "no steering issues," which was blatantly false. The steering wheel is severely off-center, and the alignment is clearly incorrect. Dave claimed the car was put on an alignment machine, but this was not believable--the machine had another vehicle (an Acura) sitting on it that clearly had not been moved and wasn't even in a condition to be aligned. The excuse given was that the alignment machine "might not be calibrated," which is not acceptable. Instead of fixing the root problem, Dave attempted to clear warning lights with a basic scan tool and tried to send me home again, even though: * The e-brake light was still blinking * The airbag light was still on This shows a fundamental lack of understanding--or honesty--about the issue. The steering angle sensor attached to the clock spring was clearly not centered or calibrated, and the airbag resistor was not properly connected, which is why the airbag light remains on and continues to trigger ABS and traction control faults. On top of all this, they broke my aftermarket horn, which is tied into the factory horn circuit. I repeatedly told them it was broken due to their work. When I picked the car up, it was still broken. What I experienced here was negligence, dishonesty, and extremely unsafe decision-making. I was told things were fixed when they clearly were not. I was told the car was safe when it absolutely was not. Warning lights were ignored instead of diagnosed. This shop caused multiple new problems, put me in danger, and then tried to cover it up by clearing codes instead of actually fixing anything. If you value your safety, your vehicle, or honest work--do not bring your car here.

As an automotive reviewer, Over the last few years I've visited countless shops to separate the…read moretruly top-tier from the ones that just get by. For this test, I brought in a 2011 BMW 335i (E92) with the N55 engine, a car that's known for delivering impressive performance but also being a nightmare for general maintenance. The goal was to see if Speed Tec could deliver the level of precision, expertise, and service that BMW owners expect. First Impressions & Facility Speed Tec immediately stood out as a professional, well-run operation. The shop is relatively clean and organized for a garage, and stocked with modern tools and diagnostic equipment. This is not a general repair shop that happens to work on BMWs. It is a performance-focused facility where the staff clearly understands these cars on a deeper level. Services Requested & Execution To properly evaluate their work, I opted for a mix of routine maintenance and performance-focused services: High-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) diagnostic check - A common weak point on the N55. Suspension refresh a- Dialing in handling after 80,000 miles. Oil change and fluid inspection - A routine service, but a good test of their thoroughness. For the HPFP diagnostic check, they didn't just scan for codes and move on. They ran a full fuel pressure analysis, checking for fluctuations and early signs of failure, which could save an owner thousands in repairs down the road. The suspension refresh was executed with precision. Instead of applying generic factory settings, they asked about my driving style and helped me fine tun the setup for a more responsive feel without compromising daily drivability. That level of attention to detail is something I rarely see in non-motorsports shops. The oil change and fluid inspection were done properly, with all fluids checked and topped off. They made sure every bolt was torqued to spec and even took the time to check for minor leaks or wear that could cause problems later. The Road Test: How Did the 335i Perform? After the service, I took the car for an extended test drive. The improvements were immediately noticeable. Throttle response was sharper, and the engine pulled smoothly without hesitation or fuel pressure dips. Steering felt more precise, and the suspension refresh restored stability and confidence in cornering. There were no warning lights, no strange noises, and no overlooked details, which is a sign of truly careful and experienced work. Final Verdict: A Must-Visit for BMW Owners and Enthusiasts Speed Tec understands performance and does not cut corners. They provide real, measurable improvements in drivability and reliability. For BMW 335i owners or anyone with a turbocharged performance car, this is exactly the kind of shop you want to trust with your vehicle. Five stars. A performance-focused shop with top-tier service.
