I've been…read morefighting stage 4 colon cancer for a year with chemotherapy and got a email about the Hardship assistance program offered by Metro credit union. Apon calling I was informed I'm not a government employee so not available for their Hardship assistance. I explained my medical issues and was told if I don't have an income coming ing in they couldn't help me. I was confused by this. As my unemployment had ended in September of 2025 . This is when I need help the most. I have money in my bank and have paid all my car payments up to date. But unfortunately was told with no income I'm not eligible for any Hardship loan deferrals. Isn't that when you need help the most? I try to find local banks to do business with who have a heart and a soul. I Had David MacMillan helping me on the phone. But he said basically it's bank policy

Needed bank statements once for a mortgage I was applying for...tried to charge me $5 per statement. Normal establishments nowadays don't nickel and dime their members like that. They did this not once, but three times. Upon the third time of them calling, I asked for a physical address and the guy was being very evasive about that and transferred me to his manager. The manager than proceeded to tell me that it was regarding an educational matter and that once I provided him with the information, he would be able to tell me. I told him once again that I refuse to provide him with that information, that this sounded like a scam or a case of attempting identity theft and asked them to remove me off of their call list. The man proceeded to say I was removed and then abruptly hung up. Please be aware of them!

Now I can't take my money back because they charge a $100 fee to close the account and there isn't enough money left. Don't invest with them! You're better off with any of the other financial advisors in this city. The only saving point here is that he advisors give you this kind of road map to retirement and it at least gets you thinking about your money a little more.
