Had a wonderful experience. I got there early and I relaxed in one of the hammocks. They create a very peaceful and relaxing environment around the dome. The experience itself was amazing. Once seated inside the dome (air conditioned) was 10-15 min of the history being explained to the group. Then 35-40 minutes of relaxing sound bowl music. I can't remember the woman's name that played the bowls, but she was beautiful and made the experience for everyone magical. After my bath I napped in a hammock with a steady breeze and trees giving me shade. I 100% recommend anyone to check it out. The drive is worth it! read more

I was fortunate to attend a sound healing concert and have to say the dome structure enhances the sound bath. I visited there Aug 10, 2013 for the Astronomy weekend. The SCDVA group projected live images of stars 10k+ miles away onto the Integratron building. So beautiful. Later I experienced a sound bath. Had no idea what to expect but it was wonderful, calming and mystical. I came out feeling different, more balanced, less ego, more OK. I am an artist and have been feeling burnout. It was a fun and interesting experience. The family that owns it really enjoys their work and it shows. The only negative if I had to nit pick was that the acoustics were only about a half hour. It it were closer to an hour I would give 5 stars. I paid for a private session which is 300 so I thought I'd get a little more time than a group session would. The experience at the Integratron was very cool, and unlike any I've had anywhere else. The building is in the middle of nowhere in the desert, and it has quite the interesting history. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but set up an appointment and check it out. Make sure to ask to hear the history of the building, otherwise they may not mention it. When inside the totally awesome architectural building that has not one nail holding it together, you get a 45 minute session in which you are "bathed" by the sounds that resonate from these huge quartz bowls. Each quartz bowl resonates at a frequency that is supposedly in tune with a different organ system (heart, reproductive, etc.) All I know is that when the session was done, I was SO relaxed. This is a very special 1950's building originally designed to create rejuvenation by being placed over intersecting geomagnetic energy lines. The current owners have done a great job of preserving the builders story (Van Tassel) as well as adding their own influence with a sound bath created by playing seven crystal bowls. I set up an private appointment for two and enjoyed 23 minutes of incredible harmonic sound and a lovely period of rest for the remainder of my hour. Okay, so I was truly excited about this and the actual sound bath was INCREDIBLE. However... that part only lasted for 20 minutes and the rest of it was... 1) The sound bath lady warbling on about energy conspiracies, UFOs, etc. Um.No thanks. I don't need to listen to some burner philosophy before I become one with the universe. The best was the part where she said the aliens had told the founder that humans were "remedial" in a profound voice. Um, that's obvious to anyone who has read a newspaper. 2) They put on Moby mood music after they scrimped on the sound bath. Look, just get to the sound bath. Do that. Then, after 40 minutes... you can put on the Moby. But, you know, I'm not paying a bunch of money and coming out here to listen to Moby. Basically, this could have been a zillion times better but has suffered from the lame hippie jibber jabber tin-hat element. It really is too bad. So disappointed. I just completed my third sound bath today. It's my birthday today and I drove all the way out from Los Angeles with my boyfriend to have the amazing experiences I've had in past years. Sad to say, it seems like the owners are focused mostly on making money now. They crammed as many people that they could into our "by appointment only" sound bath, to the point where there was too much noise from people snoring/breathing/shuffling so it detracted from the experience. It's also now $25 for this bath. But the worst part was how rude the staff member was to us. We didn't know that there was another group scheduled after us, so we stayed to check out the room. Instead of politely informing us that they had another group scheduled, the guy made a rude comment in front of everyone about my boyfriend trying to "sneak in" and that his "choice of plaid shirt gave him away" and "nice try. " Waste of a drive and money. The rudeness and greediness offset all of the peace/harmony/love/restfullness that its advertised as. read more

I usually write positive reviews but I must relate a bad experience that happened yesterday. I was very excited to go to Integratron in Joshua Tree as I've heard some great comments from my friends who went there a few weeks ago. I booked a sound bath session for 3 people. On the phone nobody told me that it would be a group session with other people but when we arrived, we have been told to wait for the others to check in. We waited for about half an hour for people who were late. Finally, we were 9 persons laying down on the dome for sound healing. I must say that since we arrived it felt weird. The woman who is in charge of the registration took our money right away but didn't explain much about what we were about to experiment or had to do. She just sent us to the dome. Later when a couple arrived they thought that I was the person in charge as they were looking for some guidance. We waited until the place for completely filled but no one knew what was going to happen. Then finally a guy arrived and started to talk to us. He was obviously bored and said his lines with not much enthusiasm; he invited us to read about the story of the dome if we were interested. He also finished his speech by saying that usually people don't talk when they leave, but what they all have in common is gratitude... A polite way to tell us: feel free to leave in silence and do not ask me any question. Finally he started to play the crystal bowls. It felt good for about 5 minutes, but then someone started to snore. As the accoustic is incredible, the sound was amplified. All we could hear was the guy snoring. Even the bowls frequency would not cover his. It was so annoying!The healing sound session is 30 minutes, that is very long when you can't relax. I tried everything I could to not focus on that annoying sound but as I'm very sensitive, I could also feel the energy coming from the other people; everyone was irritated. Our obsession to find who was the snorer became palpable and the entire session was ruined. What is incredible is that the woman next to him didn't make any move to gently stop him, even after she saw that everyone was getting upset. The only guy who relaxed during the session was the snorer. No one else got any benefit. At the end, we couldn't wait any longer, everyone got up and left, instead of staying in the dome to play with the accoustic or just enjoy the peace. One of my friends was the first to leave, then the guy who led the session followed him and has been quite rude to him. So we decided with my other friend to go to the office and ask to be rescheduled for another session as this one has been completely wasted. When we arrived at the office the guy was already there and had told his partner about our situation. He didn't want to deal with us so he asked her to take care of it as he left without even looking at us. Rude! Funny enough, the sign at the entrance of their office says PEACE. Well...it must have been a bad day for them, because we didn't feel anything like peace since we arrived in the morning. My friend has been very nice and polite, she explained the situation with a lot of diplomacy. But the woman didn't even apologize, she only said that it never happened before and offered to refund our money. Then, she couldn't wait for us to leave. My friend gave her a chance to offer us another session to really experiment the sound bath because after all, it was the point. We drove from LA for that, it was not about getting our money back. But for that woman, it was obviously only about money, she kept saying it never happened before and people make appointments one month in advance. Good for them, they have a successful business. So we left with our money but as we walked back to our car, we heard someone yelling; I couldn't believe my ears! The guy was attacking our friend who was quietly waiting in the car to not create any more tension. He yelled at him: you're getting your money back!! You're getting your money back! Do not come back! I was very confused...aren't we supposed to be in a spiritual place, a peaceful spot where people come to rejuvenate their energy? So sad... But on the positive side, we found a wonderful orchid place just next to the Integratron. That place is incredible and the people there are so lovely. At least, money is not the main focus but the beauty of the amazing flowers...At the end, we left Landers with gratitude... read more

If this was your local movie theater, missing a screening wouldn't be that bad, but driving a long distance (from SF) to the middle of nowhere for an appointment I had to make months in advance is another thing. read more

The owners really have dialed into this place in terms of the setting and ambiance. The grounds were enjoyable, staff helpful and the restrooms clean. The actual soundbath experience was very solid including one of the owners who led the session. What was disappointing had to do with the sound bath (and the playing of the quartz bowls) ending upon 25 minutes into the session. We then were forced to listen to canned "new age" music that is standard at any yoga retreat. In other words, give us more of the real sound bath.. and not just some canned new age music that really changed energy in the room. You could sense other folks were getting more restless as the canned music continued. Good experience yet could be a much better if we were given the true sound bath for the entire 50 min experience. After all a four hour drive out to Landers deserves a bit more in return. read more

I feel sad that I have to deduct some stars. I would have deducted more if this place weren't so darn cool. Tip for booking private sound baths: plan many months in advance, especially if you can only go on weekends. Since I didn't plan early enough to book a private sound bath near my birthday, I settled for a public sound bath. I was so excited to introduce my friends to this dome and made sure to arrive early at the grounds before the gates open at 11am. The sound bath was scheduled to start at noon, but once the room reached full capacity, it started earlier. The sound bath lasted about 22 minutes and we got to relax to music for about 5 minutes before we were interrupted and kicked out nicely. There was another group waiting downstairs. Rule is if 15 people or more are waiting, they will conduct another sound bath. WHAT THE HECK?!?! The website says, "The Sound Baths are conducted in a group fashion, take 30 minutes plus another 30 minutes for relaxing in the sound chamber." It also says, "A second Sound Bath will be conducted at 1:00pm when 15 or more people are waiting." It was only 12:15pm! That second group could have waited. They didn't come as early. Too bad for them that they have to wait a little. And they must have had more free time after, too, unless the place had private sound baths booked too soon after... I feel cheated!!! You have people driving from all over, some that have traveled far distances and to not be able to experience the sound bath fully was such a huge disappointment. There was really no time to relax. Everything felt so rushed from the time we first entered the room to the time we left. I can understand they may need all the money to upkeep the place since they're out in the desert, but they should just change what the website says so not much is expected next time. I hope you get a better experience, READER. It's still a cool place to visit with Joshua Tree and The Whitewater Reserve a close 35 minute drive. Don't drive here just for The Integratron though. Bring a book, a picnic, and your adventurous side. My chakras aren't satisfied. Consider the $15 I paid as a donation. read more

I am a dyed in the wool skeptic. I don't buy into the hocus pocus of New Age beliefs, OR the hocus-pocus of "accepted" religion. I do not believe in ESP, channeling, parapsychology, ghosts, alien abduction, out of body experiences, premonitions, angels, demons, possession, extraterrestrial visitation, or the merits of vinyl over digital. Today I went to the Integratron. I walked away drying tears from my eyes, the experience was so deep, personal, and, for me, the closest thing to something others seem to call "spiritual" that I have ever had, aside from the time I went to O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin (the original home of The Dubliners). I cannot explain it, but the sound experience was very ... well...moving. I even stuck around for awhile afterwards and was allowed to sing, whistle, and speak all over the building to experience the acoustics without stepping on others or interfering with other people's experience. Decent folks, great experience, and well worth the trip from L.A., and the price ($20) And I prefer vinyl for the packaging and the experience of opening a new record and putting it onto a turntable and dropping the needle. I know the CD sounds better, but the packaging generally sucks, and I know the MP3 is easier, but, it just isn't tactile. I mean, it doesn't even exist, really, does it? At least I can hold my vinyl purchase in my hand and read the liner notes listing a bunch of people I've never heard of before. read more

In short, this building was built by George van Tassel, an engineer who left his promising career to live in the desert, in the 50's as some sort of a rejuvenation and time machine. According to him, some Venusian aliens instructed him on how to make it... The Integratron building and grounds are amazing and very cool. The experience itself was slightly disappointing. The crystal bowls are only played for 27 minutes, followed by recorded music, which is fine, except the facilitator leaves at the 27 minute mark----which is kind of surprising because you can hear the slightest of movements---her exit also seemed to prompt the room to immediately start leaving as well, making it impossible to enjoy the recorded music. I tried to stay in a meditative state for as long as possible, but eventually gave up and opened my eyes to see most of the room was awake and walking around and/or leaving. I felt sorry for the two people still trying to enjoy the experience! read more

Before I visited Integratron, I read a lot of reviews, and even watched youtube videos, and heard so many good things that I decided to go. The price is not cheap for an one hour experience. However, I thought I should try it because of all the good reviews. Also, I thought since I'm there already, it'll be an interesting experience. I didn't enjoy it that much, and the sound bath didn't do anything for me. In addition, the experience wasn't some really extraordinary hippie experience that is interesting in itself. It was, well, really plain. I guess the only good thing I got out of it is that now I can say "I have tried it." Otherwise, there was nothing much to experience. It wasn't an interesting sci-fi hippie experience, nor did it heal me in anyway. I just lied on a wooden floor for an hour. If you're into this kind of new age thing, then you may enjoy this. However, I didn't. I think this has a lot to do with what kinds of person you are. If you've never been interested in this type of thing, then don't waste your money. read more

I never knew I needed a sound bath. But I got one, and well, it was worth the half hour. I wasn't one of the people who saw colors, or had some great internal understanding about the moon and stars, but I did have a chance to relax in a pretty awesome building. Go out to the hill, check out the bath, lay in a hammock, and enjoy. Oh, but you cant flush any toilet paper in their bathrooms. That kind of turns me off. Other than that, give it a go. read more

This place is a must see, must do if you are near Palms Springs. It's about a 45 minute drive from Cathedral City, but is totally worth it. The Integratron is a dome with perfect acoustics, and the ladies who own and maintain the building give fantastic sound baths. Crystal bowls are played as you lay on a cushioned mat (for public sessions be sure to bring your own mat!). Many people fall asleep, and say they had an amazing nap. For two, a private session is $35 each. Public sessions are held almost every weekend for $10 per person. The Integratron can be rented out during the week or on weekends as well. I had my birthday here and rented the integratron for a private sound bath. My friends and I had such a fun time checking out the room. The acoustics are really strange. People kept whispering from across the room and it sounded like they were whispering right in your ear. It is the neatest experience. By the time our sound bath ended we were taken to a whole other world. I have to say this was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I highly recommend it. read more

I came up to Joshua tree with a group of seven women to experience the sound bath. On our way up we got stuck in a bit of traffic and were running a bit late. We call them to let them know we were right down the street but would literally be a minute late and to please wait for us. Our appointment was at 3:30, we arrived at 3:31 and they would not let us in. We were one minute late with a party of seven and they would not let us in. This was the biggest disappointment ever. I highly suggest finding other options with better energy if you want to be opened up on an energetic level. I'm sure this comment won't deter business to this place since it is a land mark but be aware that they could care less about the people who are attending these sound baths. They also would not refund my money and they offered a CD. I didn't want to take anything from here. read more

I am not a spiritual/in-touch-with-the-universe sort of person, but this experience moved me. I'm so happy to live in a world where INTEGRATRON (come on, you just have to say/spell it that way) exists. Go with an open mind. Even if you don't dig the soundbath, try to just enjoy the whole thing and appreciate it for what it is. These folks take the soundbath thing seriously, but also have a sense of humor (restrooms are marked Mars or Venus). They have a hammock village. Cool. During the soundbath, obviously be considerate of others and try to stay still. But also try not to get too upset of the person next to you moves or maybe even snores -- it's all part of the experience. I love this place. Can't want to go back. read more

Was a really lovely experience. The sounds were very soothing and chill-bump inducing. Once he hit the first note, my body temp dropped about 10 degrees and I had to get a blanket which was really exciting. I thought I was going to be in for quite a wild ride! Once he got playing the bowls, it was fascinating to hear the tones play off of each other. I didn't have the spiritual or transcendant experience I was hoping for, but still had a nice time. At the end, however, was when things really fell apart. The acoustics in this place are amazing. So after he finished playing the bowls, the leader put on some VERY soft music for us to listen to (too soft, barely audible) - for about 30 minutes. That music was hard to hear. Especially because the staff member started walking around the room moving things around, cleaning up and opening windows. The sounds of his footsteps creaking on the hardwood floors was almost deafening, drowning out the music and eradicating any sense of relaxation I had achieved. I noticed the people around me arching their necks to see what all the commotion was. But I think the guy didn't realize that his noise was amplified 20x for us and was extremely unsettling. You think he would know that since he works there. Anyhow, very lovely experience but could have been better if they thought these things through more. read more
