I had about 40 Alexander Lessons with Mona over a two year period. Alexander lessons include…read moremovement reeducation through verbal directions and touch. I didn't come to lessons with any pain issues originally, but was interested in improved posture and musical performance. I didn't study for long enough for my musical performance to be much improved, but my use of my body certainly did. Between my two sets of 20 or so lessons, I developed pain in one foot when running. I went to an orthopedist, and he corrected the problem with an orthotic. For other reasons I returned to my Alexander lessons. At that time Mona helped me with my running issue, and I was able to stop using the orthotic, without the splitting pain returning. In close, if you have issues with pain, there's a chance that you are causing the issue with how you use your body. If you have an open mind, Mona might be able to help you break the pattern.
