Before you read my full review, I must establish that I am not an Alpenglow Solar customer. This…read morereview pertains only to the methods they've chosen to market their company and how it affects me personally. On the morning of Aug. 30, 2016, I received a call from a local number, so I answered it. It was an "urgent public service announcement" robocall telling me I was now qualified for a rate reduction as part of the American Recovery and Investment Act recently passed by congress (actually passed in 2009), and that as part of the US Renewable Energy Program, I was able to permanently save up to 60% on my electric bill while avoiding the 14% rate increase coming soon. While I listened to the robocall, I did a quick web search for the local number, which I discovered belonged to a locksmith, so I assumed the number had either been cloned or spoofed. At the end of the announcement, I pressed "1" to speak to an agent. A man came on the line and asked me the usual telemarketing questions, and I quickly learned this was a sales call for a solar company. I kept him on the line long enough to learn which company was behind this call (I'm on the national Do Not Call Registry, so I should never have been called in the first place), and it was Alpenglow Solar. To get that far, I had to provide personal information, so I made up a fictitious name and address. The agent told me that someone would call back to confirm the appointment. That call came 30-minutes later. I decided to come clean about what had transpired so as to not waste their time like they'd wasted mine. I told him the whole story, and that there was no reason to pursue me as a customer. He was quite nice on the phone and told me he appreciated the feedback, and that saved them from what would have been a 1-star review. I loathe the constant stream of mostly scam telemarketing calls I receive every day, and this one was no exception. Perhaps Alpenglow does a great job, but I'll never know. I choose to do business only with companies that don't ignore the Do Not Call Registry, don't use boiler room phone banks, and use only legitimate phone numbers.

Early this year, we began researching solar companies - as we wanted to add approximately 20 new panels to our current grouping. We called five different companies. No one ever called us back, but Progressive Power and Solar! Ron Snow contacted us, and he was absolutely wonderful from the start! Ron is extremely knowledgeable, and provided us fast, accurate (and very competitive), detailed bids. And we were thrilled when he returned our call so quickly, as he informed us we had - one week - to apply for the Utah Solar Incentive Program. Ron helped us process the necessary documentation, and thanks to his quick response...WE GOT IT! And he was nothing but - fun - throughout the entire process! When their crew arrived, they were - fabulous! They arrived 'on time', they were all 'extremely' well trained, and... best of all, they were so pleasant to work with and did not leave us a mess to clean up after they left. On final inspection, the inspector commented on the outstanding work. Thank you Progressive Power and Solar for all your help, and doing such a great job! Our last power bill was $8.55!

TOR gave me an estimate, which seemed reasonable, I accepted the estimate, and work was scheduled. The office staff made arrangements with the power company and the city for power to the house to be off for the day so the work could be done. Four professional, friendly TOR employees arrived and began their work on time. They seemed to work well together as a team and all seemed fully competent and well trained. They had the inspector come after they had removed the old panel and had started installing the new panel. The inspector did his work, chatted with the TOR guys for a few minutes, then gave his okay and left. The TOR guys finished their work on the panel, then inspected inside the house to be sure all of the outlets were correct - all had covers, all near sinks had "safety" outlets, etc. They took care of everything on the checklist. After all the work was completed, the inspector returned to give final approval and the power was turned back on. The whole project took about 6-7 hours. TOR went above and beyond, when I requested they add a hot tub hookup. Everyone I came in contact with from TOR did a great job, from office staff to the guy checking the electric outlets. They were professional and helpful, answering all my questions. They charged me the exact amount of the original estimate. I'm very happy with the work they did. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company for any residential electrical services. Great job!
