After calling several numbers (most not local) and getting recordings to leave the information so a technician could get back to me, I called One Earth and an actual person answered the call. Nickolas was able to meet me that very day to look at the problem. He gave me a quote, which was less than one I had received, and was able to immediately take care of the problem. I went back the next day and no wasps! One Earth does give discounts and a 3 month warranty. I will definitely call them first for any future pest problems that I may have.

Terminix got out to my house quickly, which was a good sign, but that was the only thing they did right. I was quoted a steep number for a week's worth of "service" (including blocking the opening into the crawl space, blocking the holes around my foundation, adding a shield to my roof access, trapping the chipmunks (and/or other critters), and a year warranty). The gentlemen came out to do this and was at my house for appx. an hour. I haven't seen him since. He only tries to call me, minutes before he wants to come check the trap. I work in Detroit and have told them numerous times, I need more of a heads up in order to lock in a site visit. He didn't even go into my crawl space. On top of that, he informed me that I was lied to and the chipmunks aren't covered by the warranty I paid for. I'm pretty sure there are now dead animals below my floors and in my walls. I'm going to have to find someone else to try and deal with this and it's already too late because it smells everywhere! The last time I spoke with the technician, he informed me my week's service was over and he was coming to take his trap back. Long story short, they're charging me ~$1800/hr to put an 8.5x11 inch screen on a little window and that shield on the roof. I will not be paying them that.

They scheduled me for Monday, which was three days away, so pretty quick response. Then they called on Sunday and said they were in the area and could come out that day, and I agreed. Very good. The man who came out was very polite and friendly and looked through my crawlspace and took pictures of the damage to show me. He identified the entrance hole the possums were using. Here's where things go awry. He said he couldn't close the hole that day, but that they'd be out in two or three days. It didn't make sense to me, since I paid $195 for them to check and see that there were no animals in there at present, so I thought they should patch the hole promptly before animals could return. He also didn't schedule an appointment for them to patch the hole, so I thought they'd call me. Two days later, I still hadn't heard from them, so I called them. The man who answered was very curt and snippy. I don't know if he was the manager of the company or what. He asked my address, then put me on hold with some scratchy elevator music that kept looping over and over. When he got back to me, he again asked my address and asked who had come to my house. I described the man to him and he knew who it was, then rudely told me, "Well, it couldn't have been yesterday." At that point I told him I was mistaken, that it had been Sunday. Then he wearily told me that he'd have to schedule an appointment for them to repair the hole. I asked him, "Why would you check my crawlspace and then not patch the hole the same day? That gives the animals a chance to come back in." He then told me, "I don't have time to talk about that, I'm busy with something else." At that point, I became angry and told him sarcastically that was a fine way to run a business, and not to bother coming back out. Not only had they not patched the hole in a timely manner, maybe figuring they could charge me more for setting traps, but he had been rude to me as well. Don't bother with Platinum Wildlife Removal unless you're in the mood to pay a lot and be treated like you're a bother instead of a valued customer.

He only looked at the crawl space area with a flashlight from out side the actual crawl space. He didn't even bring the proper tools with him and had to return with them to finish the job after an argument I had with him. Luckily my whole house inspector has previously found the damage and active infestation so I was aware of it. And, I was able to immediately correct the banfax inspector when he told me there were no wood boring insects in the house. Upon returning and actually doing the job properly he found and treated the area. I have zero faith that he even looked at the rest of the house and told him he has no credibility with me. Find a company with good reviews that will do the job correctly and 100% the first time.

They were able to come out in 2 days and were here for 3 hours before figuring out what was wrong (we didn't know why I had intermittent power in several rooms) and after thoroughly investigative, him and his partner put in 3 new outlets and new wiring. And my favorite part was that the two men cleaned up the area they worked in, put the furniture back, and was very efficient. It appears the AC had been broken for quite long and was not at all running. A major expense that could have been avoided, if it was detected during inspection. Now I have to shell out the money to fix it :-(. In addition, the inspector failed to detect a leak under the bathroom sink. My handyman infact detected the leak and also discovered the refrigerator was not working. I would not recommend them.
