Maureen was extremely quick in returning my initial phone call and gave me several options to schedule my appointment, all within a two week period. She does have limited late hours, but works for herself and therefore is flexible with her scheduling. The studio is a large one room space, divided into different areas...waiting area, reception desk, facial area, changing room, etc. It is a calm space with lots of beach themed decor. After changing into a strapless wrap/top, Maureen first did the facial which was really great...I have only had a few facials in my life, but this was one of the better ones. I was very relaxed and calm, even while we chatted during the first half of the services. Once she moved on the foot massage towards the end of the services, I was definitely in a zone of total relaxation. So much so, that I drifted off to sleep for a few minutes before realizing she was almost finished. I had a hard time sitting up and getting off the table and back to reality at that point. I was impressed with not only her skills as an esthetician, but her friendly nature as a person and as a professional. She offers an array of services including facials, nail care, waxing, and Reiki. I would definitely return and pay full price for her services and plan to do so in the near future.

I saw Nicole for the first time today and she did a beautiful job with my lashes! I will update my review if I go in for a tan. Nicole was very kind and accommodating. She is clearly knowledgeable, and makes an effort to keep the space comfortable and relaxing. She has a very sweet dog who sits quietly the whole time, and it was a treat to meet her. Nicole was able to accommodate me even though my booking was done the night before, and I was so glad to have the opportunity to get my lashes done by her! UPDATE (2/2017) I have now been for a tan and I loved it. I did the rapid organic tan. I can't believe I've never done this before. It's amazing for two reasons: 1. You can shower after two hours. That's right... no more trying to go 24 hours without letting your body touch your sheets or your clothes or another person. 2. It smells seriously great going on. It does have that "spray tan smell" over the next couple of days, but it's so mild. I work in an office where I know they would tease me relentlessly if they noticed I had gotten a spray tan (hi guys ). I think for the first two days it was pretty noticeable (not orange or anything, just mysterious for February), but by the third day I looked perfectly sun kissed. The color stuck around beautifully for a full week and I still have a kiss of it two weeks later.

I contacted her last minute for a spray tan and though her weekly schedule was packed she squeezed me in on her day off! (Could you believe that?!) She didn't use it as an excuse to speed up the process. She was informative, thorough, and patient. A chemist at work, she took the time to find the right cocktail color for what I was after and a few days later I'm happy to say it is beautiful. I have had so many compliments and I can't wait to recommend her to all my friends. She even followed up to see about post tan care and if I was happy. Thank you Nicole, I am very happy!

While other tans I've gotten consist of the typical "spray, spray, turn, spray, spray, arms up" etc., then done, Val took the time to scrutinize her work both in the pop-up tent and out of it in the brighter light to make sure everything was perfect. Additionally, she guarantees her tans, so if there are any issues after the fact she will immediately fix them (which is amazing given the myriad ways you can mess up your tan yourself by accident). As for professionalism, she's everything you want in interactions with a business. She is an extremely prompt communicator, will work around your schedule, and her set-up is quick, clean, and efficient. She is very friendly and kind as well. I would recommend Alua Tan to anyone!
