My tooth broke last week (or maybe a cavity fell out I'm not sure) so I called my dentist. His receptionist apologized and stated that he's booked four weeks in advance. Disappointed at wasting so much time thinking I am cultivating a relationship with a professional who's familiar with my specific dental needs when being unable to get his attention when I require actual dental work. I other words, I spent a decade going to a mechanic for remedial oil changes and the fella is too busy to see me the moment the check engine light goes on. I trust Avenue Dental (at 2027 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg) will view my comments as a training opportunity.

The procedure included extraction of roots and while I had never seen him before and was unlikely to return, I was treated as if I were a long standing client. It has been several months since the implant has been in and I have had absolutely no problems with it and cannot tell that the implant in place, it feels perfectly natural. I had referred a co-worker to him with a complicated implant procedure that a well known dental office would have done with an older method requiring a second long visit, but Brasko was able to do in one. Turned out very successful as well. We are both pleased with his work and recommend him.

They told me I had Four "Soon to be cavities", that I have perfect teeth but they'll be even better once they fill the "soon to be holes". I got the fillings done and a week went by... NOW my teeth hurt. I had to go back 4 times for them to finally figure out what was wrong!!! A crack in my tooth! They cracked my tooth! and now they want me to pay for the Crown!?!? You're kidding? Horrible experience. Dr. Lau is a nasty, nasty con artist of a dental professional, he's not even professional at that. Maybe if he wasn't watching the TVs in his office, talking about his weekend plans or what the best shows and movies are with his dental assistants this wouldn't be happening. They said my teeth were perfect when I first went there. Dr. Laurence Lau is a con artist, And through all of 4 visits he never once mentioned I would have to pay for the crown or root canal, Until I finally needed it. He's a terrible, terrible dentist and even worse of a human being. I feel very unsafe going to dentists in general now, but even if I do I can guarantee you it will never be to Polo Park Dental Centre to see Dr. Laurence Lau. My recommendation is no matter how many good reviews there may be for the man, my experience was so terrible, please take it into account and save yourself the hassle, pain and inconvenience. Find someone, anyone else. Stay far away from Dr. Laurence Lau.

I have been going to this dental clinic since I was a child, roughly 25 years of service. I cannot…read morebelieve how awful the service has gotten with the recent change over to Dr. Rykiss. Recently the two main doctors have retired; I believe some point during 2021. After a long run of amazing service they have decided to retire and switch ownership to Dr. Rykiss. Initially I went in with some tooth pain only to find out that I needed my first ever root canal. After Dr. Rykiss reassured me that this root canal is a procedure he is able complete, I was confident this will be a good experience and I trust that he can do this job. I was not used to this because typically my previous dentist would have referred me to a specialist. When it came time for the root canal procedure he rushed me through that session. This ended up resulting to 3 full sessions in the dentist chair in order to complete the one root canal. Keep in mind none of these sessions were for moulding for the crown/cap. Strictly just root canal. During the first session/appointment I was turned away half way through, this was because he did not have the proper tools or equipment to do at his location. This was after I've been frozen, and had extensive work done to that one tooth already. These are things he should have checked before I was more than halfway through my root canal, or before I even arrived. In the end, after 3 full sessions, he did not complete the procedure properly which has resulted in me needing to see a specialist. A specialist he repeatedly forgets to call after my appointments in person and after me persistently calling for more information. He has also forgotten to call in prescriptions for me. Leaving me in pain for a full long weekend (this has happened on two separate occasions). He has been extremely rough when doing basic procedures that I have received at this same clinic for the past 25 years. Not to mention at times he has refused me the use of the suction tube as I gag and choke on my own spit. I am 1 out of 5 people in my family that visits this dental clinic and 3 of us all have had similar experiences. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. It's unprofessional, stressful, uninformative and overall a bad experience on so many levels.

I have only good things to say about these guys. Never pushy in their service and always accommodating of my anxiety with dentistry stuff.
