As an American, many things confuse me. But one thing in particular is renting (aka hiring) a car in the UK. It's like this: the basic/standard/typical insurance you are offered when you hire a car is subject to what we'd call a deductible. What insurance4carhire is offering is, as you might have guessed from the name, insurance to cover that deductible, but at a much lower cost than the shop from which you rent the car will charge. I liked insurance4carhire because I found their explanation simple and clear, their rates quite reasonable and the ease of buying via their website high. That said, this is insurance, and the devil is therefore in the details. I urge you to read the full terms and conditions of their products (as well as you car hire's Ts&Cs), so there are no surprises. One notable thing is that should you need to use the insurance on the insurance, you pay up front for the repairs and then get reimbursed. I only give it 3 stars not for anything they did or didn't do, but because I didn't need to file a claim, so I really can't rate that (rather significant) portion of their services.
