The insurance says damage beyond £500 are covered. But they charged £1700. There was work done to the vehicle that had nothing to do with the damages. I complained and they removed the irrelevant charges still leaving a £1300 bill. It was because I had not called to report the incident within 12 hours. They said I was trying to hide the damages by standing in front of them upon return. I thought they had seen the damages right when I drove up and I asked if they needed anything else from me before leaving. £1300 of damage. They had to remove the door to the van and replace the runners for it, and repaint the entire van. How could I have stood in front of it to hide it? The damage was still found and documented by them within an hour of it's return- well within the 12 hour period. But I didn't call...

RATHER ÜBER! I have…read morebeen an Epsom resident for the last 2 years and, until 2 weeks ago, have used Clocktower Cars without incident. Two recent incidents have highlighted the fact that they do not vet their drivers and they care nothing about following up on these incidents. Shouting abusively at your fare is not acceptable behaviour for any cab driver! Putting your head in the sand as a cab operator is even worse. I am a strong advocate of local business, but I've had to draw the line.
