Paid $130 for a setup and got lazy, dismissive service…read more From the start he brushed off my bass because it was a little beat up and an unusual shape. I mentioned adding a small weight in the control cavity to balance neck dive, and he dismissed it with, "no, don't do that, that's where the electronics are." The action was high at the nut and overall. After his "setup," it came back basically unchanged -- and now the A and D strings bottomed out at the high frets. I told him the nut needed filing; he insisted nut height doesn't affect action until I proved it. He took it back, filed the low E only, and handed it back. I had to point out again that the A and D were unplayable and send it back a second time. Even then, nothing was really fixed. End result: I lost $130, my bass plays worse than before, and I'll still have to do the setup myself.

I'm on GI Bill & retired both, so, I've plenty to spend on musical instruments. I persisted and asked about a new guitar, again. I was told I would be called back about it, again. No one got back to me, so I bought the product on Amazon. Again. Sorry guys, I tried to give you my business. It seems you didn't want it...

My attention was captivated as I earned trophies at competitions, performed in recitals, and participated in duets. I achieved many awards through small achievements frequently which kept me engaged. From memorizing pages, learning songs, and completing technique drills all my efforts were recognized. The two Steinway Grand pianos at her studio are truly gorgeous instruments and feel fantastic to play. I highly recommend Patti Nyien as a teacher and her Noteworthy Piano Studio to students of all ages.

I took piano lessons at Noteworthy Piano Studio for 14 years (stopping after I graduated high…read moreschool). Patti (who is the sole instructor at the studio) was always very encouraging of my hard work, gently vindictive of the times I fell short, and knowledgeable on the material I worked on. In my 14 years there, I went from chopsticks to Chopin and everything in between. Patti uses multiple teaching techniques to advance her students. While the regular instruction at the piano was certainly her main tool, she also had computer programs that would help with rhythm, understanding music theory, and even playing pieces. Once a year, I went out for AIM testing, where I would perform for a different teacher and they would provide me some instruction. They would test me on my sight reading ability and how well I performed a song (or several). There were some real advantages of doing this testing. It set a specific goal for where I would need to be, and I had to work towards that goal so I could pass the test and reach a new "level" of piano (AIM in particular was a pass/fail course and had specific criteria for numerous levels of the program - in the end I got to Level 11 iirc). One of the main things that sets her studio apart is how many opportunities she makes for students to perform their material. She hosts group piano classes about once a season where students can perform in front of a small group of other students. I really enjoyed these growing up, and they were a great motivator for working on my repertoire. Additionally, she hosted much larger recitals twice a year that allowed me to pick a piece or two and perform it in a piano hall in front of other piano students and their parents. The other students and I were also offered opportunities to perform at various functions throughout the year (such as her recent Glorious Grands concert last year), and were given options to compete in several competitions. My instruction at Noteworthy Piano Studio allowed me to be able to play piano on my own as an adult. I regularly go to pick up new sheet music for a song I want to learn, and I still play on a nearly daily basis on my own time. I no longer have a teacher that I report to each week, but I strongly feel that Patti's instruction is what enabled me to reach this point.

Awesome services. Not only do they teach guitars and other instruments, and voice lessons, but they…read morealso have student workstations set up to teach producing your tracks using iMacs and Apple's Logic Pro X music editing software - which by the way is both known as the software to have, because it's great with medium and pros, but with a little learning curve, also with beginners. It's a great value for parents to get their kids someday, it won't break the bank, and Logic was wisely chosen as the program to teach at this place. They're a great value financially, but the main reason why you'd want to take lessons is because of their very talented teachers. They're all 20s and 30s, so they don't teach the old school Led Zeppelin school of rock oldies. They are more in this day and age of music like hip hop, pop, and electronic EDM. Their sound booths are super large, and their production studios are also very large, loaded with multiple instruments, and super cool. Again, it's cool that they know how to record and produce your music, and that they can add other instruments to your tracks, but in my opinion, what I think is the coolest, is that they have a dozen computers with affordable software parents could buy so that their kids could produce their music on their own. They're really good at showing off, but what got my kid really excited was that she could do things, like copy and paste harmonies of her voice, and as piano and drums, etc herself to her own music (which was great as her vocals and her guitar, but it's truly professional and sellable by electronically/programmatically adding much much more to her basic songs. Excitement in your kid - that's where they really Excel. But holy cow, these guys will take your semi-talented teenager and turn them into the next Taylor Swift or Calvin Harris or Beyonce. Absolute Music Academy is way better than any other place we've been, and we've been to 3 vocal coaches, a guitar coach, and SoR. There's no comparison if your kid wants to play today's music and honestly, quite possibly, turn pro. Good luck. Very affordable. Have fun!
