I had spotted the firm's name a number of times in years past on San Diego billboards but beyond that I was unfamiliar with RJS. Thankfully, when I dialed their offices I was met with an immediate warm greeting and full attention to my matter. What followed was a refreshing exchange with one of their attorneys. At the time I was traveling overseas and their team managed to make my top priority, their priority - working with my time zone challenges, panicky manner (never want to be on the opposing side of the FTB), and my half-baked understanding of the underlying issue. Their team was thorough, efficient, and above all informative and calming. What felt like a gigantic mountain to climb became a matter that together we resolved. The AI agents were horrible, kept sending me through the same loop, and ultimately I gave up and left a 3*. After their prompt response by a real person to set up an appointment, I decided to take down my review to potentially leave a better one if things went well. I was scheduled for an appointment about a week out, and at the time of the appointment, I called the number and received another virtual assistant (not AI to my knowledge), who told me that the person I had the appointment with was on another call. I left my number and was never contacted, until about 3 weeks later, by email calendar invite, telling me that another appointment had been set up in another week or two. I already got my issues handled by another CPA and will be working with that other firm in the future. I hope this firm here gets their virtuals and artificials straightened out soon

I ended up not using this guy (Thomas/Tom, SD Probate) because I caught him in a (snide) lie. The…read morenext business day when he called me I tried to ask him about it again and he gave me a totally different answer. I questioned him about the answer and he got another attitude, then hung up on me. This happened one other time with a different probate attorney. As soon as they start getting insulting with you that means that they don't respect you and plan on using you for whatever you're worth. There should never be a reason why these guys cannot answer or even re-answer questions, considering they're working with people who are usually in distress, who are mourning or the elderly. They're also getting paid an enormous amount of money, out of your/ my pockets. A wild coincidence happened no more than a hour after I talked to this gentleman. The probate lawyer from the other people involved in this called me and let me know they've corrected some things that they could not have known unless someone told them. I only told one person, Tom. My intuition tells me that the same person got in contact with them and let them know what I told him out of spite. I can't prove that, but I could testify to everything else I wrote. Always listen to your intuition and record everything w these people.
