My whole body feels stronger and more limber. Working with Denise has been such a pleasure. She is so positive and encouraging but also subtlety pushes you to improve in a very safe way. Honestly, I am NOT one of those folks that "loves" to work out. But Donovan, he makes a workout FUN. From his boxing workouts to waking up before 7am to start a pool workout ontime...on vacation even! FUN! It's like it was a big pool party vs. a targeted workout. I wish I lived near Calistoga so that I could workout with him on a more regular basis, but every time I visit, I make sure to get in at least one session with him...which inspires me even after I'm heading back to the east coast. Thanks Donovan for being an inspiration and motivator!

I feel like an overstuffed sausage at this point and Katie met me where I'm at. The workout was no doubt challenging and exactly what I needed. My glutes were burning and my abs felt alive! Ha. I know I'll see results in no time if I keep going regularly. Something extremely hard to find, but that I value in a teacher, is just the right amount of instruction. Katie doesn't bark out orders or talk ad nauseam to hear her own voice. She states what needs to be said and helps when necessary. I could actually hear myself think, go inwards, and have a meaningful workout! It was amazing. Something else noteworthy. At one point when I needed a breather from a set, Katie said "I'm with you" and it meant the world to me because I knew she meant it. I can tell Katie means it when she says there is no judgment and that she cares. She even took extra time to learn about me as a person. Oh, and the mediation part was the perfect balance of body and mind and I'm so here for the heat in each class! If you're on the fence, go for it! I got the intro monthly unlimited package; I'm so happy to go on this journey to health and wellness with Katie. I lucked out finding her and so did you if you're reading this :)

However, she has never once kicked my ass - sweetly or otherwise. Instead she's used her expertise to keep me informed AND accountable. She always meets me where I am. If I'm struggling, she focuses on how to support me. If I'm hungry for information, she feeds me rationale and data. And she always brings me back to my goals. As a nurse, I thought I knew a lot about health and wellness. But my time with Ashley has shown me that there's still so much I don't know - which is why I was spinning my wheels without seeing results for so long. As a newer mom, I was so frustrated at not having enough time or energy to get organized and work on my own fitness goals. I love my old clothes and wanted so badly to wear them again! Ashley coaches me to see what SMALL, SUSTAINABLE changes can have a big, lasting impact. In 8 weeks of working together I'm wearing pants I thought were forever in the past. And although I haven't joined a gym or starting running etc., my awareness of my daily movement and food choices is at an all time high. It has made all the difference. My only regret is not looking for her sooner.

I would 1000% recommend doing one-on-one training sessions--it's the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thanks to our workouts, I had an incredibly easy delivery and post-partum recovery. Tal radiates positive energy! She kept me smiling, fit, motivated, and--most importantly--SAFE throughout my pregnancy. Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc). I continue to use those skills daily. Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge. If you train with her, you get access to her Strong Mama Fitness online for free--another incredible resource. Although she is no longer local in the Bay Area, she is available for 1-on-1 virtual training via Zoom. Our virtual sessions were super convenient, all without sacrificing quality.
