But..... you have to experience it with a docent to get the full effect. If you poke around by yourself, it may seem unimpressive. There is a farmstead onsite, with a chicken coop. The staff searched the agricultural schedule in the 1920's census to determine what type of chicken was raised in this area during that time. Then they procured that breed! Historic, heirloom chickens! I would never have learned this just by moseying around by myself. So let the docents treat you to the incredible nuances at the museum. Before I left, I bought eggs, from the chickens with the impressive lineage. Also, follow their Facebook page for great community events. This is a happening place!

The fact it is so hands on makes it such an incredible educational experience. The prices are very cheap for a 45m tour and deep explanation of the various buildings and items in those buildings. I wish more places were set up like this were kids can actually see, reenact, and learn about historic life. All the staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed our tour guide! This place is an absolute must if you love history and you want an amazing educational experience for your kids!

The staff here was very helpful, they were there when you needed them, but not so much that they were in your face all the time. Perfect balance. I had some burnt ends, and they were tasty. I expected to load up on those for the evening, but I decided to try the famous Kansas City rubs I had heard so much about. BAM! I get it now! These ribs put every BBQ rib I have had before now to shame. My tastebuds now understand what ribs should taste like. It was a magical cross between perfection and awesome. I ate until I was ready to split a seam. Absolutely incredible. If you can get yourself here, do it... the food is amazing!

I was excited to go with my wife and parents to see The Truetones as my mom is a huge Beatles fan. I underestimated how much it would fill up so we stood up near the stage. Though we would not have expected this, Aztec's staff was very kind to offer us any available seats. I do wish there was more standing room available and I wish there was a larger variety of music that played here. However, the classic rock cover bands I've seen here put on a GREAT show. I'm glad to have this place in my local community.

There is plenty of seating in the 3 main rooms for guests and the decor is absolutely adorable. Lauri has everything so well organized and meets her guest at the venue before "checking in". The space can be rented either the entire day or for 1 of the 2 shifts (we rented 3pm-8pm). I would highly recommend this space for small parties in the Overland Park area!

Typically in my experience neither is too busy and there is a good amount of space, which makes for a calming experience to me. Their workout area is not extremely large, but it still has a lot to offer with its array of free weights, workout machines, treadmills, etc. One thing I enjoy while utilizing the track is checking out all of the events they offer that you can see advertised on their screens. Their pool area seems pretty great as well, though I haven't used it myself.
