A dental assistant flossed a few of my teeth, did a quick polishing, and then the dentist, Michael Slater, came into the room to finish the procedure. In all previous cleanings/checks I have had by other dental offices, a dental hygienist has done the cleaning, polishing, checking the teeth, etc., before the dentist came in to do a thorough check of each tooth. However, at this visit, the sulcus depths around the teeth weren't checked and my teeth weren't scaled by anyone--except for the lingual surfaces of my mandibular anterior teeth, which were done by the dentist. Flossing wasn't done between each tooth after polishing. The whole process seemed out of order and the result an incomplete exam. I was disappointed in the services I received, and will look for another dental office where the cleaning/exam is done by both an effective dental hygienist and dentist.

I was given an estimate around $600 for my visit in April, only to be hit with a shocking $2,500 bill afterwards which was received in late June. Since July, I've been trying to get answers, and instead I have been met with rudeness, avoidance, and zero accountability from the front office. I repeatedly asked to speak with the doctor and was told he "does not talk on the phone with patients." At my follow up cleaning in September, I confronted him directly about the ongoing billing issues and the dismissive treatment I'd been getting. He told me, "We will get this taken care of," and took every document I brought - the estimate, the bills, phone logs - everything. I finally thought someone was taking this seriously. Instead, nothing changed. A few weeks later, I received the exact same $2,500 bill with no explanation, no update, nothing. When I called again, a staff member offered a payment plan but then told me the amount I could actually afford was not accepted by the doctor - he needed double the monthly payment. When I asked for time to figure things out, communication suddenly stopped. My calls were not returned, my messages were ignored, and even my email received no response. I was calling weekly with no progress. Today, after months of trying to resolve this with the office directly, I found out they sent my bill to collections without notifying me. After everything, this was how they chose to handle it. I have never dealt with such poor communication, lack of follow- through, and disregard for patient's concerns. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office to anyone.

I honestly am so scared that I waited way too long for any simple visit. The whole team worked with us from the moment we walked in the door. Dr. Dawson and his assistant were excellent communicators and eased my high anxiety through constant reassurances and I must tell you I was so happy and so impressed during the whole process of removing 10 teeth! I was awake during the whole time. It was close to 4 hours of surgery, and it was awesome! The care during the surgery was so wonderful and I was cool as a cucumber. The gas used and local shots were administered with my relaxation and pain level in check. I go back in for a bridge and a couple tooth inserts. I'll follow up with the next visit. Thank you all again for making this long over-due visit one worth telling everyone about!

Someone called me a couple of days before my appointment to make sure I understood. Dental procedures can be scary and produce great anxiety, but this one did not. The staff and Dr.O were so calm and reassuring, my procedure was done before I realized it. Having IV sedation helped that along, of course! Dr. Carter has a wonderful method when he gives a shot. I barely feel anything! Front office staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Once you are in the back they have your child lay in your lap so they feel comfortable (as much as they can) while getting their check up. They are fast and efficient and work with your child instead of against them.
