I worked for Treasure House for four years before being let go. I had the toddler group, and most…read moreof the time I liked it until they mixed an infant in with a group of toddlers. Which is a ratio of one to 4, but not always easy. They said later said no more babies with toddlers but then add a child that just turned one that same day and said he wasn't a baby. Just that one extra child with a group of two's was not easy for one person. Especially when they were just learning to walk . The job was hard enough , but then they added cameras on you so that the main office and director could watch you and come in and tell you what you were doing wrong . You also have to be very careful about what you say or do because you could be easily accused of abuse. Also, it was written in the hand book that you could be fired at any time for any reason. It was sometimes a happy place and other times very stressful. Happy to be out and I have a better job now.

i would never recommend this place for employment it def isn't EOE .. the director is clueless…read moreabout what she's doing the prek teacher is never there she leaves for her own personal reasons and shops on company time she's never in the classroom which states you must be in the classroom 7 hours a day she is not .. my daughter was fired for taking time off because her baby was very sick her dad died in march which also resulted in time missed .. she was never told about her attendance she was fired today thru text which is very unprofessional she was told that in pa you could be fired for any reason and the reason wasn't for missing time it was because the director wanted her boyfriend to replace my daughter the kids there adored her .. is this a place where you want to send your children ? how can one person teach 18 kids while the other teacher is never there and the director hides in the kitchen ? i wouldn't recommend working there either because as my daughter was told she could be fired at any time and without reason .. what a shit show that place is.. we've contacted a lawyer i guess they aren't aware my daughter has rights under the family medical leave act .. her father passed away her baby is very sick .. others come and go as they please there ..

I started my son here in November at 8 weeks old. The place was close and it seemed OK during our…read moretour. They promised a lot in ways of activities but I saw nothing during my time there. On the first day, I rang the doorbell. They let me in and did not check my ID. I stood there having no clue where to go. No one greeted me. Everyone just stood at me until I said, Ummm my son is starting today - where to I go. I walked through the playroom (which is carpet btw and they don't make you take your shoes off) and into the infant room where no teacher introduced themselves. I still don't know their names. I supplied bottles, diapers, a blanket, a crib cover( pack n plays - no cribs) formula and water. They didn't ask me any questions about him so I filled them in a bit and off I went. On almost every occasion I went to pick him up he was just sitting in some type of device crying. I would rush him home and give him a bottle. On one particular occasion, they called to tell me my son threw up and had a low grade fever. I told them that he was congested and it was spit up bc of the phlegm he was swallowing. They were convinced he threw up and I should take him to the Drs. I went to pick him up - they threw him at home and he was screaming crying. I asked them if they could make him a bottle bc I cant drive him to the Dr crying and hungry. The woman took a dirty bottle out of the sink, and began to make his bottle. I was so frazzled at this point that I just went with it. She hands me the bottle. I start to feed him and realize she never put the blue air piece in. So I called her out and said no wonder he threw up. He's drinking air. She just starred at me. Then I noticed the nipple he was drinking out of was not his!!! It was another babies and it was dirty. I took him to the DR and he had no fever and was fine. I decided to remove my child from this place. We found him an awesome school where he isn't just going to be sitting in a swing all day made to sleep. On our last day - they handed me his stuff. The owner never even spoke to me after I told some girl ( again - no one introduces themselves to you) that we would not be returning the next week. And the owner was there that day and saw me hand my child over. Not one word from her. When I got home, I went through his things. And took out his dirty bottle with a level 3 nipple on it. My child is 4 months old. He does not use a level 3 nipple. The second bottle I gave them was never open. They never even used it. I am disgusted and I feel awful that I let my child go to a place like this.

During the summer they have mandatory 3 HOUR nap time, regardless of the age of the child. If your…read morechild doesn't want to sleep (or is too old to nap) then they can QUIETLY watch tv. The center looks great and is clean and new but for me it was a total disappointment. I don't know if its laziness or if the owner really thinks that watching movies is an appropriate way for school age children to spend their summer days. Probably a little of both. On more than one occasion my daughter was reprimanded for laughing during nap time. She said she wasn't allowed to have a special snack ( I think it was ice cream) because of it. That's just ridiculous. Three hour nap time for older kids is unreasonable. Waste of my money and my child's summer.

I go to the Scranton center every Wednesday. I take an exercise class and have a delicious lunch…read more I am not of the Jewish faith and still they welcome my friend and I. I always enjoy my afternoons there. I recently read a post where someone was complaining because the center is closed on certain times and dates. Perhaps he should learn a little about the people and their religion before he decides they take off to many days. My thanks to the staff and volunteers.

Horrible lot . It's closed early and often. It is closed on all Jewish holidays, all federal…read moreholidays and every Saturday. It is basically closed 25% of the year. It also closes early every Friday and sometimes it inexplicably opens late and/or closes early on Sundays. It has a pool, but it is frequently booked for private parties or cannot be used because there's not a same-sex lifeguard on duty. It's also very small and people do not respect the lanes. They recently replaced all the equipment, but the new equipment is already malfunctioning. It's also all made by the same manufacturer, so if you don't like it, you're out of luck. Kids are constantly in the gym, hanging out and monopolizing equipment that they are not actually using. Calling staff enforcement of gym rules lax would actually be generous. The staff is more interested in socializing or exercising than actually doing their job. The locker rooms are often disgusting, with wet floors and clothes strewn about a common occurrence and there is no respect for boundaries or hygiene. Gym goers will sit on locker room benches completely nude, without even a towel, and think little or nothing of it. You pay a lot of money for a gym that can't be used because it's always either closed or just disgusting.
