Purchasing a new home is stressful. Building a home is stressful. Paul came recommended to me by a realtor. I asked for the most thorough inspector that he knew. I could not be more pleased with all the information Paul provided us. He completed our pre-drywall, our final inspection and our radon test. He is professional, detail oriented and prompt. The reports he provides following all inspections were overwhelming with information. In an inspection report more information is better. He even provided links to websites where we could find cooberated information to his report. Above and beyond he even highlighted specific areas. If you need a good inspector don't hire Paul. I took the advise of a colleague of mine to use "Inspector Paul" and made a big mistake. I should have used my normal, go-to inspector. Without doubt, this inspector knows his stuff, however, good communication needs to follow an inspection. A good inspector will take time to articulate to a customer results and offer constructive feedback in a friendly manner. This is where "Inspector Paul" fails. On a follow-up call, he was extremely short, rude, and often times frustrated with our questions. Mind you, these were just basic questions. I work in a service industry and would never treat a paying customer as such. As a buyer with elementary knowledge of the in's and out's of building construction, you rely heavily on the interpretation of the inspector and on the inspection report. it would have been nice if he offered more than 3 word replies to our questions during our follow-up call. I felt ripped off for what I spent ($400 for a 600 sqft. space). Would not have minded spending that much at all had he been willing to discuss the report and provided some basic recommendations. Did not get my money's worth at all. Save your money, do not hire this inspector. He is over-priced and under-friendly. read more

I called Inspector Paul last minute (two days before we needed a pre-drywall inspection done) and he was able to accommodate us under such short notice. Paul King was very friendly over the phone and responded quickly to subsequent e-mails and texts that we sent. We could tell he was extremely knowledgeable and experienced during the inspection and the final report was incredibly detailed with numerous photographs and videos. He even took the time to walk me through the house afterwards and pointed out all the areas of concern and structural issues he noticed. He took as much time as he needed to explain his findings and was very easy to understand. I didn't feel like any part of the process was rushed in any way. From start to finish Inspector Paul was professional, thorough, and couldn't have been nicer. His attention to detail was worth every penny! If any one else is on the fence wondering if a pre-drywall inspection is worth the time and money, it absolutely was! We would never have known to look for all the things that Inspector Paul noticed and the builders would have just gone ahead and covered everything up with the drywall and siding, hiding the structural issues that would eventually arise months or years down the line. Now, the builder is working on all the recommended repairs and we feel much better about our home. We will absolutely be calling Paul again to perform another full inspection when the house is complete before the 1-year builder's warranty is expired. I am a first time home buyer moving cross the country. I saw the home on a quick weekend trip and called Inspector Paul to inspect the property because of his reputation for being really detailed and thorough. I can say that without a doubt, he lived up to every bit if expectation I had. Our specific report was 102 pages and very detailed. The items were not necessarily trivial as one might expect, but supported the case that there was a larger problem with the home which had no-permitted work. He also found some major issues which we have brought to the attention of the sellers and will likely save us thousands of dollars worth of work. Inspector Paul King was extremely easy to work with. We had a very short turnaround time to have our home inspection and Paul was very responsive. We received a contract quickly and were able to choose the services we needed and submit our payment information so that we didn't have to deal with money on the day of the inspection. His rates were in line with our expectations. Paul was early for the appointment and was well under way when we arrived at the house. He was very neat (different shoes for the yard vs. the inside of the house). He was very thorough and took the time to explain what he observed as he went through. He gave us a bunch of tips on home maintenance and what to watch out for. He was honest about things he couldn't observe or assess.
