I have heard about this place from my coworkers quite often. So, when the opportunity came to visit Insomnia Cookies, I had to check it out. I am not a sweet food junkie but from time to time, I'll try something. On this particular day, the organization wanted to acknowledge a few employees and my coworker and I were responsible for ordering and picking up the cookies. Upon walking in, there was no one at the register or nearby. There was no way of signalling the individual that customers were in the store. We stood in the store for a while and made some loud noise to see if anyone would hear us. After 30 minutes of waiting, someone did finally come to the front. There was no acknowledgement of "Sorry for waiting, I was in the middle of ..... thank you for your patience. How can I help you." A simple acknowledgement would have been great. We understand if you're the only person working and you get caught up doing something, there's going to be some wait time. After 30 minutes of waiting, we were annoyed and it seemed the individual was also annoyed by the noises we were making to try to get someone's attention. Despite all the annoying experiences, the cookies were delicious and everyone enjoyed them. We wish the customer service was better presented and hopefully, Insomnia Cookies can place a better system that notifies whoever's working that day that people have walked into the building. read more

I came in to the store and no one was at the counter and after standing there for 10 minutes an employee walked in the front door looked at me and went back into the kitchen, I then proceeded to wait another 10 minutes before that same employee came back out front and informed me the individual who works the cash register was taking out the trash. Then after waiting even longer someone finally came to take my order and they reeked of marijuana and appeared to be high. Denied service to a legally blind individual with a Service Dog. Wouldn't go there if their fare was free.

Came in to order cookies and the person taking my order never looked up from his phone once. We asked to get snickerdoodle cookies, he said they had none, we asked to get double chocolate chunk, he said they had none. All while never looking from his phone. It was only like 9pm. Not sure who's hired this kid but yall have got to do better. Me personally I would NEVER be on my phone while taking someone's order just out of respect and it's clear that young man had ZERO respect for customers. This business denies entrance to people with disabilities especially if they have a service dog. Stay far away. He wasn't rude, just not very nice or personable. He got our order wrong, but corrected it right away. I had the chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie. Both came out warm and super soft! We were craving cookies and ice cream bad so decided to stop in since we've had Insomina cookies before in another city. We went in on 6/23/2023 a little after 2 p.m. The door was unlocked and we assumed the store was open so we went in. We looked at the menu on the wall and decided what we wanted and waited because we thought maybe they were really open and someone was just in the back working. We waited for about 10/15 minutes, called "Hello" several times, checked to make sure the open sign was really on and still nothing... Finally, a guy walks in the store (we thought he was another customer), looks directly at us, walks right by us and proceeds to walk around the counter into the back and never even acknowledge us. My family really wanted some cookies and ice cream and had been waiting all day for it once we found there was an Insomnia cookies in Greenville. However, I will never give my money to a company that treats people this way. I didn't read the reviews before driving there, but I should have. For all the other reviews that also gave only one star I'm sure they did it only because there was no option for zero or negative stars. Just sent this: Today I placed two orders. One to be delivered tonight at 9pm and a large order for request night at 9pm. These were to go to my daughter's dorm. At 9:30p I called the number listed and was on hold for 10m. The "customer service" rep canceled both orders without a concern for the loss of business or how late the order was. At that time the driver contacted my daughter because he couldn't find her dorm. Then he contacted her and told her that he had to take the order back to the store since it was canceled. I don't mind not getting the order but the customer service factor shows me how you treat customers. There was ice cream and milk in tonight's order so for it to arrive 50 minutes late I'm quite sure neither would have been fit to be consumed. If there was an issue, communication should have begun shortly after the time it was due. I suppose in a college town you get such high volume of business that you don't mind losing a new customer. We made the hike over from Dickinson Avenue Public House for some desert. Wow, it was so yummy. When are you arriving we were greeted by a very friendly staff. The staff was very knowledgeable of all the different cookie selections were available. We found it very delicious to try the deluxe cookies. The cookies came warm, and you can also purchase milk to go along with your warm cookies. They also deliver from 12 PM to 3 AM in the East Carolina University area. I placed an order in the store tonight at 8:58 and was told it would be a few minutes. After waiting 40 minutes I finally approached the register just to wait even longer for someone to come out help me just tell me my order was ready at 9. No one brought them out to us. The manager "thought we had left" ( I had my 13 year old daughter with me and she left her fake ID at home, so no) and would not give me my money back unless I gave him back the change he gave me. They had probably the best cookies I have ever eaten in my life! The location was in downtown and fit in the area very well!!! The cookies were super good and warm, just like you would expect from a fresh cookie bakery, it really gives you the memory of your mom taking the nice, warm, steaming, messy, yummy cookies out of the oven! The cookies are delicious and the best in the Greenville downtown area, but the retail service is horrible. On two occasions I had the same "manager", who, at both times, was rude and obviously didn't care about the company or customers. He wouldn't allow my friend, who was feeling sick, to use the bathroom even though we paid for a cookie and a beverage. He told her to feel free to get sick outside, but not directly in front of the store. It also took over 10 minutes to give me ONE cookie.
