This was to allow for deeper penetration of the laser during the procedure and better results. When I got to the office on procedure day, my nurse Angie (she's AMAZING!) thoroughly explained the procedure, discussed my concerns and then applied numbing cream. The cream sat on my face for about 20-30 minutes. There was also an option of having a pain pill as well as the numbing cream but I opted just for the numbing cream. She put goggles on me to protect my eyes and then started the procedure. What struck me most during the procedure was the smell. It was sort of a burning smell - something not expected, but makes sense. The laser itself wasn't too bad, though certain parts of my face hurt more than others. The constant blast of cool air during the procedure helped a lot. I had one pass of the laser over my entire face and then a second pass over the bottom half of my face where my problem areas are. Angie applied Aquafor to my face when finished. After the procedure for about an hour or two, my skin felt sunburned. I had a bit of pinpoint bleeding (normal for the procedure) a few hours after the procedure but then that went away. I applied Aquafor, did vinegar soaks, and iced my face with a bag of frozen peas off and on for the next 48 hours. The redness and swelling went away gradually over the next 5-7 days following the procedure. I'm now about 2 1/2 months post procedure and while it did take about 6 weeks to see results, my skin is looking better and better! It's much smoother and my scarring/hyper pigmentation has faded substantially. I still get hormonal break outs around my chin and jaw, but they seem to heal much faster and with less hyper-pigmentation then before due to the extra collagen growth stimulated by the procedure. All in all it was a great experience with great results! With the CO2 laser they do recommend at least 2 treatments so I'll definitely be getting another round after the summer for even better results! Love the skin center and the AMAZING staff!

I asked for a touchup on the 5 spots that got darker. He said he would charge me $100. I said I was hoping for a complementary touchup for only 5 small spots. Keep in mind I paid $229 for 2 areas for 2 visits through Groupon and he wanted to charge me $100 for only 5 spots. Then he said, "there is barely any improvement after the 1st service". Why would you sell a 2 visit package if there is barely any improvement the 1st treatment?? I felt he did not care about my experience at all.

I felt taken care of and well informed (even though I already knew most of the info) I had been getting shortwave for awhile in brooklyn and it had a ton of regrowth and i was burnt badly on my upper lip because of my course beard hairs requiring a very high setting. I've also had laser on my face one of the most painful things ever! and it didnt work so don't try it. stick with electrolysis for the face and laser for your body, that's what's given me the best results. as a trans woman I started with very coarse body hair so I had to add dutagen to my regiment of meds to thin it out. after my face is done I'll be seeing his wife to get my upper body zapped. thanks for reading!
