I scheduled an appointment for my daughter and specifically called the salon in advance to explain that she has very thick hair and would likely need additional appointment time. Despite that conversation, the appointment was not scheduled for enough time to complete the requested services. As a result, the stylist ran out of time, my daughter did not receive the haircut that was scheduled, and we left with highlights that were not completed to the standard we expected. What has been most frustrating has been the effort required to get the issue addressed. I contacted the salon hoping to simply have the services corrected. Instead, I spent several hours over multiple conversations trying to resolve the situation. While I understand the need to gather information, the process felt unnecessarily difficult and was met with repeated explanations rather than clear solutions. I never requested a refund--only an opportunity to have the haircut completed and the highlighting corrected. Unfortunately, after investing significant time trying to work through the issue, I still do not feel that a reasonable resolution has been reached. Based on my experience, Cha Cha's provides excellent service when everything goes as planned. However, if a problem does arise, my experience suggests that resolving it may be far more challenging than it should be. Update: To be clear, I was coordinating the conversation because McKenna was placed under my account by your staff. I was not refusing to let you speak with her. The current process of calling in, then waiting for texts or return calls later in the day, does not work well with her schedule and has made it very difficult to get this resolved in a straightforward way. Based on the photos, I am not sure what additional information is needed. The service was not completed as expected, and the highlights were not well done. Yes, McKenna would like the issue corrected. At this point, I would appreciate a direct call so we can discuss the next step and get this resolved.

My wife's stylist was running late so they washed her hair and she sat... and she sat... hair dried. When she finally had her turn, my wife showed the late stylist a picture of how she had it... not a model... not a different cut... just how she styles it. When she was done, she looked like an extra from the 80s show Dallas. Big hair... all she needed were shoulder pads. Lashes coming off, eyeshadow unblended, winged liner was horrible, it was uneven and going downward. (I had her fix it and it looked even worse so I asked her to remove it) foundation didn't match me at all. it looked like a 5 year old did my makeup. I wouldn't be surprised if the girl had never done makeup before in her life. It was shameful to do that to someone and let them walk out looking that bad. To think that you would be okay letting someone look like that on their wedding day is extremely upsetting. I ran home and wiped it all off as fast as I could. The hair was fine. My highlights and color is so on trend and make me feel like a million bucks! Additionally, the salon pampered me to the max. Not only did I get a head and neck massage before highlights were applied, but during the salon washing process I got an amazing head and shoulder rub and hand massage with essential oils. I was also sitting on a massage chair with my eyes covered and a warm pillow on my chest. It was so cozy and snuggly and extremely relaxing! The scheduling process is super easy online, although I don't think all of the stylists are listed. So, if you're wanting a specific stylist and they're not listed as available online, call. The day of my appointment I received a call indicating that Jessica, the stylist that I had scheduled was ill. They offered for me to see Sarom who turned out to be less expensive than the one who I'd initially scheduled. Score! I must mention that even though the cut was cheaper, Ms. Sarom wasn't less than amazing. I'm jumping ahead. It's located in the Chevy Chase area, in the same strip as Starbucks. So, parking could be an issue, but I've always been able to score a spot in the lot in front when I patronize the businesses in that strip mall of sorts behind Louie's Wine Dive. When I checked in, I was pleasantly surprised to be offered warm tea, which just so happened to be fantastic and made the short wait worth the while. So, skip Starbucks before your appointment. As I sat and waited, I noticed Sarom taking her time with the client before me. It was nice to see that she wasn't rushing like other stylists in some of my other previous experiences. I didn't know that she was my scheduled stylist, so that was a welcomed surprise when she introduced herself after she finished up. This is one of the few Aveda featured salons in Lexington. Apparently, all of the locations start with a mini hand and neck massage before your cut. Speaking of my cut, it was perfect and exactly the way that I requested it to be cut. I'd go again. However, as I get more mature, I am more and more concerned about my skin. Based on the personal recommendation of a friend, I bought a Groupon so I could give the service a try. Another review on Yelp mentioned the fact that you contact the esthetician personally to make an appointment. I didn't find this strange in the least. I have several friends that have been communicating with stylists and other service professionals for YEARS by text message. I think it's a great feature to be able to get a text confirmation of an appointment or to make appointment changes by text. When I contacted Cathleen by text, she responded promptly and we arranged an appointment. Having only experienced one bad facial, I did a web search to learn what I should expect from a quality facial. I found a great article at http://spas.about.com/od/massage/a/whatisafacial.htm that answered a lot of my questions. On the day of the facial, I arrived on time and was greeted promptly by Cathleen. She happily took my list of medications and skin care products and gave me a pretty little form to fill out. The salon was cute and well-decorated and the spa room where I had my service was pretty and relaxing, even down to the music. Cathleen did everything the article mentioned, from talking to me about my concerns, medications (like how the hormones in my birth control pill affected my skin), skin type, and lifestyle. She examined my skin and tailored the facial just for me. She was friendly and I genuinely enjoyed chatting with her. She answered my many inane questions about what she was doing. She took her time and did things WELL. That attention to detail could be why my appointment time started about 10 minutes late, but this didn't seem unusual to me after years visiting hair stylists and massage therapists. She also told me that I was doing a great job with my skin care regiment and didn't try to sell me any products. This was a pleasant surprise since salons and spas tend to make a lot of money on products. Cathleen was running a post-groupon promotion for a small discount if you pre-booked your next appointment, so I booked my next facial thinking that if I had a bad reaction or my skin looked horrible in the next week that I could cancel it. I did not cancel it. The next day my skin tone was incredibly even and smooth-looking and I didn't even have to wear foundation to work!
