After signing in a member meeting of his friendly staff whisked me to an exam room where they promptly began doing some initial vision checks. Dr Fornara then came in and began a very through, yet efficient exam. I ended my appointment by picking out some new glasses. It has been a few years since I have gotten some new frames and generally where my glasses after a long day or if my contacts are bothering me. That being said I still wanted something stylish. The staff helped me try several frame options and were very patient while I made my selection. Overall Dr Fornara and his staff make Optics Plus Vision Center make getting your vision checked an awesome experience.

When I went in recently for my yearly exam I bought a pair of glasses. His staff insisted that I didn't have coverage for vision on my insurance...insisting I pay cash. I went home and called my insurance carrier. Found out I do indeed have vision coverage. I went back to the office. I spoke to the person handling my insurance. After MANY eye rolls and my insistence she called the insurance provider to get the information I had provided earlier.. Now I have my new glasses and am having problems. I called today and spoke to "Kathy" asking for assistance to solve my problem. She wasn't willing to listen to complaint just insisted that they couldn't help me. She did offer an option finally, which I agreed to. Then she said that she didn't offer that option and could not help at all. Very frustrating with the whole situation but especially the condescending way I was treated. Dr Keating is a good doctor but the whole office needs an overhaul.

They had all the information on file (I sent it in myself, and they acknowledged having received it) but insisted he verify my birthdate and asked him to pay for service up front because he couldn't remember the exact date. On another occasion, my adult son, who presents as white, was not asked for this information. We have been going there as a family for years, but I'm sorry to say we will be shopping around for another place.
