It's a nice size building with the smokehouse on one side and the ice cream shop on the other. There are picnic tables outside and a dining room in the back through the ice cream shop. We both ordered the combo flight since we weren't sure what we'd like. The combo flight comes with 3 meats and then 3 sides. I chose the brisket, pork and chicken and a side of sweet and tangy bbq sauce then smokehouse Mac and cheese, pit beans and cheese potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the brisket and Mac and cheese. Afterward, we split an ice cream flight - 4 flavors to choose - and I got the lemon cheesecake, banana pudding, Jameson bourbon toffee and pistachio. They were all really delicious! My fav was the banana pudding. Overall, fantastic food, great prices, fast service and I can't wait to come back!

Allowed us to bring our dogs as we were camping nearby. The BBQ options were extensive. I settled on the smoked pulled chicken tacos. They were delicious and so moist. You have to try their JACKED UP TENNESSEE TOFFEE which was so delicious!

I enjoy excellent restaurants wherever I am. Either you have what it takes or you don't. People don't like it when I come into neighbors restaurants and inspect everything. People don't like it when I come into their shops. I mean, it's a hard business when you have neighbors telling on neighbors. The ambience of this place is spot on. It is a true Michigander awesome food restaurant. It will always be 5 star in my books. Thank you. You neighbors all want honest reviews. Game on.

No one else seated in that area at that time. With entire floor empty, four of us were seated at the table at the back where all traffic to and from kitchen must pass. Not a problem, but by the time we had dinner with dessert, the entire area was filled with customers...subjecting us to the constant in/out business of the kitchen traffic. Clearly we were given the noisiest and worse table in a location where there was not a single occupied table. I didn't think we appeared that undesirable. The bill for our dinners with dessert came to almost $300...two of us had salmon with plum sauce, a dish we enjoyed and have had on prior visits. My complaint...1 person asked for extra plum sauce to take with her leftover salmon. She received a plastic container with approximately 3 ounces of sauce. The charge $3.00. I am not cheap, or I wouldn't be treating people to rib-eye steak or salmon that we enjoyed at a place like White Horse Inn. But...I do consider WHI to be cheap and willing to sacrifice losing a customer with that kind of service, or lack thereof. I know that you are popular, serve good food and I understand why that is true. No doubt you won't miss the four customers you have lost over the above issues.

Everything is made in-house, and you can really taste the difference. The cookies are exactly what the name promises--kooky combinations that somehow work perfectly! I tried the Peanut Butter Moon Pie, which was incredibly soft and moist with tons of peanut butter flavor and a generous layer of frosting in the middle. The Dubai Chocolate cookie was rich, deeply chocolatey, and just melted in my mouth. I also had a peanut butter cookie with a cheesecake filling that was absolutely delicious. Every cookie was fresh, soft, and packed with flavor. The shop itself is adorable. They serve ice cream, sell dessert-scented candles that look just like the real thing, and have benches out front under a tree where you can sit and enjoy your treats while taking in Lapeer's charming downtown. I love that the area is filled with locally owned businesses instead of chain stores. The staff was friendly, and they even have a punch card rewards program, which is a nice bonus. I paid about $25 for four cookies, so it's definitely a splurge, but the quality makes it worth it. I'll absolutely be back to see what new, creative cookie combinations they come up with next!
