BUYER BEWARE! Our…read moreexperience was shockingly bad. Jonathan Nash was short tempered with us and used F-bombs, expletives and personal insults when we simply called to ask about the progress of our job. I was caught off guard. It was such a rapid escalation of a simple follow up call. Who does that?! We found the lack of professionalism to be absolutely astounding. By contrast, and to be fair, the workers themselves were kind and professional. Despite Chris Nash being highlighted on the website, the son, Jonathan Nash said he purchased the business recently, and NW Arbor-Culture is no longer owned by his father Chris (who, as I understand, had a wonderful hard earned reputation over 20+ years for quality and integrity). Based on my experience, I would urge you to look elsewhere for your tree service. There are many quality arborist out there to choose from. LOOK ELSEWHERE!

The reply I received said, "If your available I can stop by on Saturday around 9-10 am for a free estimate?" I agreed, provided my bae and address, and they replied, "sounds good, see you Saturday." Saturday morning comes around and no arrival or word. I send a text at about 10:30a to say, "Hey there- sorry it didn't work out this morning. I have to head out for the day. Thanks anyways!" however I notice that, while all previous messages had been sent via iMessage on my phone, this last one was green and sent as a text message leading me to believe the guy flaked the morning of and didn't want to deal with it so he blocked my phone number. I would have appreciated the heads up so I didn't wait around. Unprofessional and unreliable from my experience. my advice for this business owner is to grow up and communicate with your potential clients.

Scott and his team did a great job and were a pleasure to work with throughout each project. Scott helped brainstorm solutions that would accomplish our goals, and then promptly executed the projects with minimal involvement by us, even completing one project while we were out of town. He also went out of his way to get favorable sourcing/pricing for the arborvitae trees, which really helped keep the cost reasonable. Before I worked with S&M, I had three companies tell me that they wouldn't even consider a project unless it was over $8,000-$10,000. I had previously removed a yard of bamboo, but could not get ahead on my project since I work full time. S&M came in and cleared out the weeds that had taken over, leveled out the yard with top soil, prepped an area for ecograss seed (I seeded the following spring), put in weed barrier and gravel for our area where we wanted to put in raised beds and a fire pit later. With their help, we were able to achieve our goals. What was different about S&M was their customer service and information sharing. They always let me know when they would be working and what they would be doing. Some companies don't tell you when they are going to show up and then nickel and dime you to finish the project, not S&M. They stuck to their budget and schedule!
