British Unlimited - New brake pads @ a fraction of dealer cost!

British Unlimited

I thought I would share my recent story of getting my 2016 RRS TD6 repaired. First of all I just…read morebought it in December 2018 from Expo Motorcars IMO stay away from there... anyway, by April 2019 the check engine light came on twice. I had to buy new tires and needed a complete brake job including a new caliper. The Southwest Land Rover dealership wanted to charge me $5,600 for throttle body replacement, front and rear brakes and replace the caliper. And another $255 for an alignment and in a few months they recommend i come back for a mileage service for $1,200. So I thought that was outrageous so I pulled my car from LR southwest Houston to British Unlimited in Spring, Tx where I got a hell of a deal. Instead of replacing the throttle body they serviced it for $150 vs $1.8k at the dealership then they did the complete brake job for $1,295 + $285 for a used caliper w 1yr warranty Vs $3.7k at the dealership. They Also bleed the brakes, did an alignment, an oil change topped off fluids, replaced cabin filter and reset service light all for wait for it $2.3k out the door! Never mind the reasonable prices, their consummate customer service was amazing! I was able to get Multiple questions asked. We communicated via text and phone call throughout the entire process! If that's not great care and service I don't know what is. I say all this to say if you're in Houston, Tx and you aren't getting warrantied work done at the dealer it is worth the drive to Spring/ The Woodlands to British Unlimited where Luis And Steven will take good care of you!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. Steven Herrera engages in deeply…read moreunethical and deceptive business practices, particularly toward young, first-time buyers. This is, without question, one of the most dishonest and predatory automotive experiences my family has ever encountered. I have over 15 years of experience buying and working on Land Rovers. Based on that experience, I can say with confidence that we were repeatedly misled and overcharged. I made the mistake of trusting Steven Herrera to assist my daughter with the purchase of her first vehicle--a used Land Rover. That trust was completely misplaced. The vehicle was grossly misrepresented, poorly serviced, and priced more than $2,000 above its actual value, under the false impression that we were receiving a fair deal. Since the purchase, the car has been plagued with ongoing mechanical issues, compounded by substandard workmanship and a continuous stream of excuses and false statements. Taking advantage of an 18-year-old purchasing her first car is indefensible. This level of dishonesty and disregard for basic ethical standards is unacceptable in any business, especially one dealing with customers who rely on professional integrity. This experience has been absolutely disgraceful. Avoid this business at all costs.

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD in a business. These guys botched everything, starting with not…read moretrying to open my work truck's door with a key and thus delaying my repairs for 5 days. Work. Truck. Then, they gave me a quote on parts at at least a 5X markup on the retail price, claiming "we only use OEM for Ford." I showed the manager the OEM part for I needed around $100 online. He just bullshitted and bullshitted, then told my 87-year old mother (my ride that day) he'd be happy to do business with her anytime but not me. What? When I slammed my hand on the counter, which was louder than I expected, they called the sheriff. I was simply a disgruntled customer. Three police cars showed up, each of them wondering why the hell they got a phone call. Meanwhile, this manager would not release my vehicle until I paid $379.90 for their "assessment." I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH MALFEASANCE. I am ashamed this business calls itself Christian Brothers. I hope everyone reads this interview and that manager gets replaced. They blew me off for 5-days during my work week, then did the shoddiest of assessments, held my truck captive, took zero responsibility, and called the police on me. I'm not kidding. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

Milstead Automotive - Random car being towed

Through Pep Boys Roadside Assistance, I scheduled for Milstead Automotive to tow my car and was…read moregiven an arrival time of 5:45-6:15 pm. I called Milstead around 6:20 pm because the online portal did not show that the status of my service had been updated to show that the tow truck was in route or that the truck had already picked up my vehicle. I was told by a Milstead employee that their drivers were behind because of traffic and could not arrive before 7 pm. This was going to be a problem because the business my vehicle was at closed at 7 pm. The employee said that she could reschedule my service for 8 am the next day and I agreed to that. For the original service request, I spoke to a Milstead employee at 4:24 pm to confirm that they had received my request and it was confirmed. No one from Milstead contacted me to say that they were not going to be able to adhere to their arrival time. The next day, I called Milstead around 8:15 am to see if my car had been picked up and the employee said that my service had been set for 10-11 am and could not be moved to a sooner time. I let the employee know about my situation from the previous day and she said there was no documentation that my tow service was rescheduled for 8 am that day. I canceled my service with Milstead because they pushed back their arrival time twice without updating me that they would be doing so.
